Ouch!

Red Lotus Elise 05 plate stuck under what looked like a Ford Galaxy yesterday at Holt Heath near Worcester at 11.30am. The cabin looked intact and my son thought you were sat on the side of the road. We were in the red Esprit and waved past by the police. Hope you're ok

Not sure how clever the Dacia owner is thinking an 05 plate car is brand new but ouch all the same! No-one injured which is good, does look like a hefty impact.

Nor how the Dacia is lifted 6 feet off the ground when the Elise is no more than 4ft tall and even then a bit of the Dacia (the underfloor of the boot) that's probably normally a foot off the ground is the only bit sitting on the Elise's roof.

yikes. :o

That could have ended worse......

When my Impreza was 5m old I was sitting at some lights with the car full of family. I just had time to think "why have the reversing lights on that Volvo XC90 just...." before it accelerated back towards us and started to climb my bonnet. If he'd built up more speed it may well have looked more like this.

£5k damage to my car.

£0 damage to his

Annoying that was...... although he did take full liablilty and didn't try to make up any stories.

Ah yes, the Sun reported this in their usual accurate fashion

Anyone else spot the "brand new" Elise in there? I can't

It's brand new to the owner. Well, was.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Saved by the strength of windscreen I'd say looking at the picture above... Close shave!!

I've seen this type of crash many times before. A car/van in front gets hard on the brakes which results with most of the weight of the vehicle over the front axle. Low slung sports car following behind hits the brakes hard but leaves it too late, again the sports car has most of its weight over the front axle. With it's nose on the floor the sports car gets under the 'light' back end of the car infront and hey presto it's now on top of it... You don't need to be going at break-neck speed either for it to happen.
