Who used to own this S1?

Was this... https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lotus/esprit/lotus-esprit-1976/7298265 owned by one of the members on here? I'm thinking Leon Douche (spelling?) owned, restored and then sold a white S1 a long while ago?

Yours for £105,000 :)

I think the car is priced about right if you take into consideration the cost of a proper restoration. However there are so many things on the car that are not right, I think they should be corrected before asking over 100k

The more the merrier

Keep seeing cars advertised for big money. It doesn't translate to actual value until someone pays that price. There are so few around it is nothing but speculation trying to find that price people are willing to pay.

Wow is that confirmed? My insurance is up for renewal this month realistically what should I get an agreed value for? I am currently on holiday so can't check but think it is 35k at the moment! I am guessing that's not going to cover it

I was thinking £45k when mine is up for renewal in the Autumn - but maybe more now. Let us know what you value it at.

With prices rising so quickly, what may seem too much at the start of the insurance year, may be too little at the end. I upped from £25k last year to £35k this year, and to replace my car right now there are these for sale

  • 2 x UKSC on £30k
  • Paul Matty at £55k
  • 1st Choice at £40k
  • In Berlin at £43k

So I guess the current valuation is around the right price - But none of these have the correct interior :( - so I can't replace my car for any money at the moment!

Chris i was thinking 45k but can I replace it for that and I would want to replace it not take the money. @Bazza 907 what do you think, I believe your in the industry?

Thanks

Dan

Insurance yes but not valuations. FWIW my guess 'for insurance purposes' would be £40-£45k

I am glad Barça sold Neymar for 222m , he is not worth that (We will probably build a new stadium with that cash), in the other hand a Lotus Esprit S1 in mostly original condition should be worth around 100K€, if we put in context the amount of J(rest of the world) cars that were made, between 60-80K€ would be a reasonable price for a good one.
