Cypriot
I have been looking into replacing the standard cast alloys of the 400 with something lighter. I would have liked to just the forged ones from Lotus, but they are stupidly expensive (maybe we get enough people together to do a group buy?!). Now, I have been looking in the usual places like BC forged, but I can't find any technical specs for most after market wheels. Why they don't specify the weight of the wheels is beyond me, as surely this is one of the most important aspects of getting a set of forged wheels. Anyway, I thought I would ask on here to see if anyone has any suggestions to make regarding wheels, while still keeping the 19/20 inch setup. Cheers
French Frie
you may have some ideas here, even if on S1 evora : http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f170/aftermarket-wheels-suggestions-124296/index5.html I reckon Ultraleggeras look great ... an there too : http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f170/evora-monza-forged-wheels-97286/
franjipane
I know i shouldn't, but i quite like the coloured ones!

PB Racing (who made the monza wheels) don't seem to make them anymore. OZ make some lovely wheels indeed, and they at least post weight figures, but their sizing doesnt fit the evora again... more research is needed! thanks for the info again though... Bravo73
The chap who made the Evora EV also got a set of custom forged wheels made in 19/20" sizes. They would have to be sent from the USA though.
TheKevlarKid
You've answered your own question as to why they don't publish the weights... They are custom made and they will all differ from size to size. Weight is important yes but (as you're finding out) not as important as getting the correct size wheels and offsets and bolt patterns... Cypriot
So in reality there are no 19/20" aftermarket wheels that you can just put on the evora, as the sizes are just all wrong. No wonder lotus can charge so much for their wheels!! anyone want to sell their forged wheels? On gloss black?
Bravo73
ES Motorsports have got some of the original 19/20" sets of wheels for sale.
Gold FFM CocoPops Posted August 4, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted August 4, 2017 Would definitely be worth talking to BC Forged for example, to get a group buy price. 21gg
From memory, BC Forged wanted about £3k to make a set of alloys for my GTE. Gav
Cypriot
thats still a better price than the 2k a wheel that lotus want... I have emailed BC, and shall wait to see what they say. I will of course let everyone on here know in case people want to do a group buy.
mik
Mike - as I understand it the 19/20" "Design" wheels fitted to S1 are forged - regardless of finish. (This theory is supported here I had to buy a single rear recently and bought a "brand new old stock" item from The Lotus Centre for £660. It arrived well wrapped with a couple of very minor stuffs only. Won't help more than one person, but they appear to still have 2 fronts and 2 rears available in black.... Rear : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-Evora-10-Spoke-Rear-Alloy-Wheel-20-/263092793525 Front : (incorrectly listed as 20" instead of 19") http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-Evora-10-Spoke-Front-Alloy-Wheel-Black-20-/253049740115 Edited August 4, 2017 by mik
Bravo73
Aye carumba. If you want those wheels, speak to ES first. Their prices are far more reasonable.

Bravo73
Yep. £300 each for the diamond cut ones. Less for black.
mik
Wow. Didn't realise. Looks like I paid more than I had to. Circa £1400 from Lotus for a new rear....

donaldt
I will be interested if there is a group buy have been looking around for a second set of rims for track but thinking maybe it makes more sense to get a set of nicer rims for street and use the stock ones on the track
Cypriot
Resurrecting an old thread here... Just been to check the deroure site, and it seems the price of the forged 400 wheels have dropped significantly in price. They are now £792 for a front, and £852 for a rear. Obviously still not cheap, but way cheaper than they used to be!
Julian73
Has anybody fitted the 18" Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.3's from the Series 1 to the 400 series? 18 x 8.5 52mm offset & 18 x 10 60mm offset

EGTE
They do look yummy, don't they? I have a set of Fuchs-type Braids on <a German make, what I is selling> and they are seriously light.
#84
If you consider Braid, I can recommend the Fullrace FF. They saved 10 kg all around vs. the standard fitted 18"/19". 0,5" wider front and rear, but 18" diameter rear. I hade them custom ordered and the designer sent me the drawings for approval. Top class service and cheaper than all the options I found at the Lotus aftermarket part dealers. i think I posted a picture in some other thread. https://www.braid.es/wheels/products/competition-wheels_p8/fullrace-flowforming-wheels_p90.html ..Edit: ouppps, I just saw that they are only available in 18". Good value for the money anyhow ... Edited June 24, 2018 by #84 ?
