Roger 912
Some typical comments about LOTUS on the facebook page of the Air Show. It would appear that the Esprit had a petrol leak and rather than try and start the car, they moved it to a safe area. Is that an S1? silverfrost
You are right Phil , S2 , Speedline alloy wheels and inlet ears, Looks really nice from the photos, very sensible to push it off , Lets hope the fuel leak gets sorted quickly and another one is not lost to the flames Quote A

Popular Post happyvwcamper
Sadly, I confess, that is my S2. Ruptured the left hand fuel tank and petrol was leaking out. The Fire officer wanted it removed from "Airside" and I point blank refused to start it, hence, four extremely helpful marshals pushed it for me. It was moved to the furtherest point possible where it sat for the rest of the day. I've ordered two new alloy tanks from SJ sportscars, so, hopefully, that won't happen again! Also, the Senior marshal, with the Walkie Talkie, is a Lotus owner. Alan has owned his very nice S1 Elise from new.

PhilW
Paul if your running by Oct 15th there might be a run to Rockingham. Meet in Cambridge. Probably Tescos on A14.
G_Reaper
Beautiful S2!!! Great Sunset pics. They remind me of some of the original Lotus press photos (minus the RAC breakdown truck) especially with that period Lotus factory reg number. I hope you get it sorted easily. Cheers Mike
Fridge
Worth it for the pix alone. Fuel tanks are a pig to remove and fit, but will be worth it. Just did mine last Friday before refitting the body shell to the rolling chassis.

Fridge
Apart from removing the body shell, no not really @happyvwcamper You should be able to remove them with a small struggle, after disconnecting the fuel filler neck and then removing the rubber filler pipes. Dropping them in is tricky. It's not obvious, but basically they go in widest (front) pointing downwards into the space, then angling upwards to level. Sounds easy, but it's not. Totally counter intuitive, and sounds implausible, but that's the way they go in bizarrely.
