Presumably you can set the parameters in Road, Sport and Race? £8.5K?

Trevor.

They're not 'active' Ali, no. What they do is allow you to adjust your suspension settings on the fly from inside the car. They have 30 clicks of rebound and 30 compression and it holds 3 presets (road/sport/race) which you save your prefered setting to each.

No more grovelling around under the car or having to jack up and remove wheels to adjust the dampers, it can all be done while you're driving and you immediately feel the changes you've made, you can play around with them to your hearts content. :)

Trev, speak to Russ Walton at MGR regards pricing, they're aren't that expensive.

The TTX in-line dampers have a massive range of adjustment in them. I've gone 50% stiffer on spring rates over stock Evora and in their softer road settings you'd swear blind they were softer sprung than the stock Bilsteins... The overall ride quality has massively improved also, no more crashy harshness that would have the front end of the car skipping in the corners if you run over rough surfaces, potholes or raised manhole covers. They just keep the car going exactly were you pointed it and give you loads more confidence to push on, seriously impressed so far. I could instantly see where my money had gone and I hadnt even got 100yds up the road from collecting it. It's that much of a difference. Can't wait to get it on track now!!

Nice.

Are they the version that can also be set to change according to a GPS position (i.e. approaching a particular corner)?

They sound amazing, very smart idea.

Which TTX are you running?

Same as factory use on the GT430, though I think they've found some very lightweight Eibach springs to go with them. Lovely stuff!

Yes, they're the same style and size damper body as going to be used on the new 430, also the evora GT4 race car used them and the exige V6 CupR.

Ohlins also do a 40mm ttx damper kit that you'll find on top end race cars. You're into 3k+ a corner though just for the basic damper before you start specing blowout valves and the like...

To be fair though, as expensive as they are, I'd rather spend my money on this type of mod rather than endlessly chasing power output. For me, the handling and braking departments come in way higher up the order of priorities. The feel of the car underneath you is the most important aspect of any sports car imo, as long as it's not under powered then all is good if it handles and stops well...

Agreed. Yes the TTX40's are very serious money. The suspension spec on an Evora with Ohlins is exceptionally high, nothing else comes close at that price level.

Lovely stuff, Gav. I may have just spent a bit of dough with Mr Walton myself, today

Rats!  I don't have a glovebox in the 2-11...   ;)

Definitely the easier to adjust the more you'll 'play' and optimise.

Exactly this... Can't tell you how many times i've 'thought' about getting under the car and changing settings on a trackday but never bothered due to the ballache of going round each corner and having to set them...it'll do... not anymore!!
