LEGS Breakfast and visit to The Secret Bunker 8th October

Recommended Posts

Please note the change of date for the October Breakfast meeting. Not the 1st Sunday of the month but the 2nd Sunday being 8th October 10:00am to 12 midday.

We have been invited by  David L. Douglas of Cairneyhill, Fife, KY12 8QX makers of handmade kitchens and bespoke furniture for sausage or bacon breakfast rolls from their Aga in the showroom and  tea or coffee. A tour of their workshop behind the showroom is also on the cards. They recently had the Porsche Club of Scotland visit them before going on a run and managed 10 cars, let's see if we can beat that number.

I have also organised a visit to Scotland's Secret Bunker from 2:00pm and designed a route from Cairneyhill along the South Fife coastal route to The East Neuk. I have asked for a dedicated area in the car park for our cars. The cost of entrance to the bunker is £11.00 payable on the day. It can take about 2 hours to go round the bunker.

After the bunker we have the option of heading home or on to St Andrews for Ice Cream at Luvians and/or Fish and Chips at Cromars, winner of The Best Fish & Chip Shop in Scotland 2016 or head straight for the famous Fish Bar in Anstruther. The options are numerous and we can decide on the day.

The Coastal Route to The Secret Bunker

If you are interested please add your name to the list below and indicate if Breakfast only or Breakfast and Bunker as I need to let these venues know how many to expect.

1 & 2 Brian & Jackie - Breakfast & Bunker visit

3 & 4 Johnny & Audrey - Breakfast, Bunker visit and fish and chips too

We can still have a convoy through St Andrews, turn a few heads?

Sorry to hear that David. I hope Jennifer feels better soon.

Slight amendment to our intentions - we can't do all 3 elements as we can't leave the dogs shut in the house all day, and the chippy visit does have a certain appeal, .

I was at St Andrews today checking on Cromers and discovered that The Alfred Dunhill Cup is on at the Old Course on Sunday 8th October and St Andrews is likely to be chockablock. So it’s probably best on this occasion to head to Anstruther after the Secret Bunker for Fish and Chips.

I'm afraid that we're now going to have to take a rain-check on this - Jennifer is not too well at the moment as the post-surgery treatment seems to be taking its toll, :( .

Hi All,

Unfortunately Scott and Mark McCaughran need to withdraw from this one.  Scotts house move has been brought forward and it is now all hands to the pump for moving in this weekend.

Sincere apologies for the last minute notice.  We were both really looking forward to getting the cars out and meeting up.

Mark.

Is it too late to add my name? Bunker and Chippy if possible.

Never too late Archie. Are you coming for breakfast or just meeting at the bunker. Planning to be at the bunker between 1:30 and 2:00pm.

Sorry you can't make it and thanks for letting me know. Hope the house move goes well. Quick heads up if interested, the next meet will be at Gloagburn Farm Shop, Tibbermore near Perth on 5th November. I will be posting up details on Monday.

Thanks Brian. A trip into the Western General every day for 5 weeks to undergo a session of radiotherapy is bound to knock you sideways but at least they are 99.9% confident that they've caught it in time.
