More series 1 hole questions

Question

The previous owner of my car (Series 1 Esprit September 1976 chassis number 129) fitted a V8 at some point and made major modifications which I'm trying to put back to original. I have attached a picture looking backwards at the underside of the car from the engine bay towards the boot - the piece of wood in the photo is roughly where the rear half shafts would be. What I wanted to know is...

Are the holes marked A & F original? If so what are they for?

Thanks, Paul.

Wow. I am having a tough time orienting myself to the viewpoint with the chassis out of the way.

If i read this right what I am looking at .... is the lip on the upper portion of the photo the boot lid lip?

Hehehe what you're looking at is the lip around the engine bay, on top of which sits the engine cover. I was sitting where the engine would go. If anybody can confirm which holes the coil uses for mounting I'd appreciate that info as well. I'm assuming the coil uses holes 'D' and that 'C' are redundant but confirmation would be nice. By the time I've finished this car I shall know it intimately!

Hi Paul,

First, the holes A & F are for the steal U-profiles to bolt on and where the plywoud is fastened.

Second, the holes D are indeed for the coil.

Much pleasure to make it a real S1 again.
