Carbon fibre options

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have a black 350 and lately I have been pining after some carbon.

i am stuck on which option is best, I want to do the front splitter, front access hatch, roof, rear louvred cover, side vents, spoiler and diffuser.

Now do I buy the real carbon parts but accept it will cost a small fortune and be overkill on a 350.

do I take it to somewhere like wicked coatings and have them hydro dip the parts. A friend did some parts for his Ferrari there and you couldn’t tell the difference with the real carbon once they were coated and polished. However I don’t believe this can be undone so come resale some may not like it.

do I get it wrapped with carbon effect which I can undo but will that look as real.

anyone else been in this position and what did you find was the best route?

Or should I just put up and shut up and ensure i negotiate carbon into the next car when I upgrade....

Upgrade today to remove Google ads and support TLF.

Carbon bits from Lotus are very expensive. Over £4K for roof and side pods from 380Cup are £1K - EACH.

Eltech seem to offer much cheaper alternatives, not seen their stuff though

That’s in budget for all the bits I want, just hope they can do them without the branding written on the outside!

has anyone on here bought from them?

Any other carbon spoiler options as I don’t like there version much.

So http://komo-tec.com/Shop/en/Exige/MK3-Toyota-V6/Carbon-parts/

have some sexy parts and I like the curved spoiler.

Also http://www.hangar111.com/shop/285-lotus-exige-v6-s-carbon-fibre

have some nice bits - drop end spoiler looks an option.

anyone bought from either of these?

so happy the real deal is an option now.

Lots of the KT cf parts are manufactured by hkfever in Hong Kong. If you’re going to be buying lots, you might as well go direct:

Win Ace (in Malaysia) also produce lots of cf parts for the Exige V6 (including front & rear clams, if you really want to go the ‘whole hog’!):

I have the rear wing and front splitter in Carbon on order from Eltech, should be shipped this week, hopefully!

Will report back when they arrive.

How much could I sell the current Matt black parts on the 350 for?

only done 2000 miles so still brand new.

can I sell all or are only some parts desirable?

list would be:

front splitter

front hatch

roof

rear louvred section

spoiler

rear diffuser

side scoops

intetested to know what I could get.

Yes, I’ve bought from Win-Ace (although I went via elise-shop.com).

Someone over on S E L O C bought their Elise Cup kit direct from Malaysia. I don’t think that he had any issues.

No idea on the value of your other parts, I’m afraid. Decent secondhand parts are usually 50-75% of RRRP. However, I suspect that the market for Exige parts is pretty small so you might only get 30%, if you can find a buyer at all.

@Bravo73 were they good quality? Would you buy them again? If not, which other brand would you rate for rivalling the lotus forged wheels (love the Evora forged but hate the exige version).

@alias23 would be keen to get a quote and discuss other options available.

thanks in advance guys.
