Sound deadening and ac are options - just like they are on all other existing Cup variants.

I agree that room has been left for something more - but weight loss  won't be From options  as it's already not included

If some stuff has been left out in terms of power which I do believe, some body will have to explain me in detail where they will get the extra weight loss, I guess only the bonnet, the doors and main body are GRP at this point in time. The chassis has been on put on the mother of all diet, the interior could I guess do without a glove box and anything electric. The rear subframe is i guess still made of high strength steel and could be made in aluminum... That would make it a full carbon Lotus Evora. I guess we'll know in around two years and by then Lotus maybe in a very different place.

Is 10% of output (6 cars) for the principal UK market really true? At least 50% of the 20 GTEs sold here and that included  some LHD. Where did that 6 units come from? It doesn't make much sense to me. I'm still a couple of quid short of affording one though.

@NedaSayits a market price in germany not a strictly conversion of the currencies, also the 410 is more expensive in germany than in UK

Uh ok I can understand a market price in Germany  but that price list :

Quote

MARKET RETAIL PRICE

UK £112,500 (incl. VAT at 20%)

Germany €151,000 (incl. VAT at 19%)

France €152,300 (incl. VAT at 20%)

Italy €154,900 (incl. VAT at 22% and transport)

Japan ¥20,850,000 (incl. VAT at 8%)

is straight from the Press release posted by our dearest Bibs

Well I just checked the Lotus Cars Australia website again and the GT430 is not there. It isn't even in the News section still. So if what is being said is correct about RHD etc, I don't think it looks like any will reach the Southern Hemisphere.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

@Neda Say in the advert mentioned, also in the other 3 adverts in Germany, the "correct" base price from the official price list is mentioned, all adverts show different prices. I think the adverts state that you can order the car like you wanr, price depends on your options, the shown price is an example.

But as already said, the base price 151k Euro is the market price from lotus, a lot higher than the uk price. I think the car is v e r y interesting but its hard to believe that they will sell well in Germany with that competition. But maybe the few find a good home and happy owners. Interesting to see that the market in Germany, also continental europe I believe the Evora S My 12-15 are hard to get on the used car market, more pre MY 12 and 400 (a lot).

@Neda Say also: if you add ac and stereo the 430 is nearly double price than my 2012 Evora S, not to mention the 13 Evora S had been even cheaper.....but if Lotus can get this prices now, seeing 380 cup, why shouldn 't they? As Clarkson said some years before: Evora is (now had been) the bargain of the century

Guys, I have a question. How is a car which sales for 112k in the UK (VAT included) gets to 156k (VAT included) on the continent if it is the same spec?

Last time I did the conversion GBP 112k represented roughly EUR 125k. So can somebody explain the EUR 25k if not EUR 30k difference, cause I don't think the channel run cost Lotus 25k per car? Nor does switching the steering wheel to the left can cost that much either. And considering the base Evora retails at 76k in the UK while it sales at 89k on the continent which represents only a premium of 5k, why do we suddenly have what a "brexit" tax on this model?

It's not unusual as Tom woild say. The vagaries of the global car market.

We in the UK have long paid much more than sAmericans for Range Rovers, Porsche and Jaguars and two of those three are BUILT in the UK.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

@NedaSay It makes a change for the UK to have "preferential" pricing on cars.

Take your logic in reverse and compare the costs of mainstream Euro cars within Europe and the U.K. (And the U.S. for that matter). Exchange rates make for no comparison whatsoever, market pricing does & always has

I suspect that Mr Win Ace is busy scribbling his design as we speak.

I can confirm that Win Ace versions of the bumpers are 'in the pipeline'.

I'm told by Aimee that all 6 allocated to the UK are spoken for.

I too busy driving to keep up with this thread, but I believe yesterday 2 buyers were known, but I bumped in to a guy in the IOM today who has ordered one through Murrays, so that's 3 accounted for.

And mine was the first 400 he had sat in... today

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Do they? Murrays have 3, Silverstone have 2 and Randy said Hofmanns have 1. There are only 6 allocated for the UK...

Also so easy for them to earn money offering the 430 remap. Not many would go to Komotec if the factory offered a remap, especially if it preserved the warranty. It's been this way for years, Lotus have shown no interest in making money after the initial sale to date.

The problem is that the 400 is not 400hp (more like 375) and so the 430 won't be 430. Whereas all the current turbo rivals (and NA for the 911) are conservative in their estimates.

GT430 looks stunning. I worry that the drive train is now holding it back compared to others at £120k.

What makes this more expensive to produce than a 400 or a 410? A bit of carbon and thats about it (infact there is a cost saving over a 4 seat 400). Why compete when there isn't really any need to? Lotus isn't McLaren or Porsche and I just wish they were comfortable with that.

don't limit numbers and price it at £95k and then its compared to a 911GTS. easy.

Maybe there are more than 6 available to the UK after all or Murray's reduced their order?

Titanium exhaust plus Ohlins as a start, that's 5 figures before we look all the carbon...
