If an Evora 410 really has 375bhp and weighs 1400kg then it must have the greatest chassis ever made to keep up with a V6 Cup.

Why? If the 410/400 is down on Power, how do you know the Cup isn't down on power ;)

I want to interject here...HP is measured at the crank...Wheel HP is what is supposed to matter.... but NOTHING matters except for how the torque is delivered.   Everyone talks about HP but it's all BS. And lotus has to be careful how much toque it delivers to the standard gearbox.

If the only thing constant is change, then why do we resist change the most?

Maybe there are more than 6 available to the UK after all or Murray's reduced their order?

Titanium exhaust plus Ohlins as a start, that's 5 figures before we look all the carbon...

Was going to say, is the press car included in the 6, but then noticed its LHD

One thing that no one as mentioned yet, well as far as I know, got to say I do like the black stone chip protection in front of the rear wheels, I think it gives the impression of width, a wider rear track.

Which incidentally is pretty much what I've said on PH in the last hour...

Never understood why certain types feel the need to thrash out meanless times like they've done them personally...

I don't care what this outputs - it's bloody gorgeous and I just think it's massively unfair that I can't afford one lol.

The shape of it also reflects the angles higher up on the tailgate, it meshes really well with the shape of the car.

I wonder if Lotus would offer for the new 400/410 MY2018 the front end of the 430 wihtout the carbon blade and a new package option including some features of the 430GT to cut weight. (Brake, Ohlins, etc ...). It would be a shame to not doing that, the factory could earn easy money.

With my 410 on the factory floor right now, I would order the brake discs, Ohlins, wider wheels in a heart beat; I already tried to get the factory to add A-panel wheel vents

@The Pits

"Sport 410 still appeals greatly. You could get 430bhp from one very easily, although not a good idea before the warranty's expired. There's fun to be had from being more of an underdog on trackdays. 430 styling is more exciting and aggressive, 410 is more elegant. The question I have now is, will Lotus fit Ohlins to a Sport 410?"

I tend to disagree - the fact that R. Carr "went back" to the "Lotus mouth" makes the 430 in my eyes more elegant than the more "boxer-style" 410 - all a matter of taste of course, be with you with the question of the int, S1 most Special (also agreeon the 288 hint ;-)

As I currently have about 430 out of my S1, I will definitely be boosting my 410 to about 450 within its first 6 months of life.  I look at it this way, same engine - same transmission but with the added protection of charge cooler and trans oil cooler.

@TBD mobile says 4 allocations for Germany free.......(well, not free of charge .........)

Not for me, I'm still enjoying the EX460. I do love the GT430, but I can't see the reason to change. Also, I'm sure we will see more variants, hopefully a wide body version closer to the original GTE.

If you have the choice between a Stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell don't forget the Nomex®!

@TBD fine, good to hear that you are happy with your car - (I guess) you are quite right, there will be more and more variants to come....good for them that to not have the luck to own an awesome Lotus / Evora now, hard to decide for the actual Evora owners when / if a Change might be sensible.....

The endless discussion of what BHP does it make.... Presumably Lotus quote BHP Din ( At the flywheel, with all engine ancillaries )  If someone has got  375 at the wheels on a rolling road, that would be pretty close to 400bhp din.   I would also have thought that Lotus would be in major deep legal shite if they were caught massaging their figures upwards, never mind the adverse publicity it would bring.

Is there any precedent for a car company getting sued for misrepresenting power figures? Its not like they call it the Evora 400 and claim its 375 anywhere. Like the Exige 350 is claimed to be actually 345 on their site, but the 400 is outright claimed to be 400. Now I understand dynos are different and certain things can affect horse power figures. But it seems that it should  at least dyno 400 +/- 10HP (390 - 410).  25 missing HP seems to be blatant false advertising.

Welcome to TLF Ryan. :welcome:

You should duck over to the Introductions area and say hi in there as well. Some photos of your car would be great as well. :)

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Bhp discussion's been done many times, just because a Lotus isn't making the claimed power on the dyno doesn't mean it's not making the claimed power. There was an issue with sensors when not using 4 wheel rolling roads that is well documented but still the rumours persist along with the equally unlikely story that Porsche understate their power figures. At the end of the day people believe what they want to believe. In my experience the cars perform well relative to their competitors and that this is what matters most.

Would be great to get back to discussing the GT430.
