430 will be available for the USA market shortly mate on both full fat and Sport (which coincidentally can come as a +2 as long as you spec the Sparco seats and larger (stronger) wheels).

Optional in the UK too then?

I'm sure there's an embargo until Monday, but more to the point I can't believe he braked for Windsock

I was over at Lotus Silverstone yesterday installing a Devialet Phantom on loan and saw both the GT430's they have there, quite stunning, both looked beautiful, stunning details, I love all the carbon at the rear, I think there will be 2 very happy owners there :)

Hnnnnrgh... In that blue, from that angle especially, I'm not sure I've seen a finer looking car in a good while. Initially I didn't care for the wing, but if I put my thumb over it, it really seems there's something missing. Can't say there's much wrong with that at all.

<offtopic> a phantom... in a car showroom? Really? Not that an echo-cavern is really great for any audio, mind.

Saw the Fire Red press car yesterday. Wasn't convinced by the Sport 410 in that colour but by thunder it looked good on the GT430.

430 is stunning in photos, even better in reality. One of those cars that looks amazing in any colour as the photoshops prove.

Some truly exceptional work has gone into this car. Just as well at the asking price of course but this now pips the Exige 380 Cup as the best looking Lotus since the Sport 300 for me.

Congratulations to everyone who has coughed up for a 430. Having been passed regularly on the M11 by a white GTE i am aware of the tremendous presence that these cars will have. But it is also exciting times for prospective Evora buyers going forward because i am certain that the new styling will be carried over to all Evora models. The rear hatch glassless louvre option will be a must on the 400. Perhaps as soon as the next model year refresh. Some of the panels will be available in cf as an option. Lotus will wait an appropriate period of time before fully stepping on the 430's toes in that respect. Any Evora that at a glance could be mistaken for a 430 sport will be bloody gorgeous. Lotus may even choose to give each model a little more power. 410,420,430 is a logical progression. It will be easy and justified then to charge 5k more for the refreshed and super desirable new 410 and 420 sitting under the halo of the 430. I wonder if the new panels will be available for retro-fitting from Hethel? Someone will tap in to that market otherwise...

So do you get any sort of letter from Lotus saying what is going on or is it word-of-mouth via the dealer?

I think it would be great if Lotus sent out official Lotus letterhead actual paper letters to notify new owners of the dates for their specific order. And no, not an email.

They won't, but it would be great.

That's rather boring, isn't it?

eh.... no.

I would rather have the opportunity to discuss the car on the phone directly with either the factory or the dealership. Boring? - listening to Scott Walker talk enthusiastically about your car as it goes through build? Trying conveying that enthusiasm in a letter? And why would I want a letter which takes 2 days to arrive when we can get direct access at the end of the phone as new breaks?

I guess it depends on what you want from life to be fair. Maybe you would like a letter delivered in the post - but that's a bit wasteful and once you've ogled over it with your morning coffee it will just go into the recycling pile anyway.

Didn't realise that all of that went on in the phone call. I look at the letter as something else that could be added to the file that owners keep on their cars. Much like the Lotus Certificate of Provenance that so many of us buy from Lotus.

I have no qualm with you getting phone calls to keep you updated. I just thought a letter from Lotus would be great.
