I'm not convinced it's an issue. In reality anyone taking a car like that to track won't be doing the nimby track but the big GP like Spa and Silverstone where noise is less an issue. If you are looking at other cars in this *assumed* sector (GT3 for example), whenever they are on reguiar track days they are fitted with silencers that more often than not are bouncing down the pit straight after a couple of laps.

Just my 2p, but this is a car i am interested in, and I spend a lot of time on track and i hope it has the noisy titanium exhaust as standard. People driving these cars well won't wabt to take them near a standard track day, you'll get driven nuts by the traffic.

I think if you got this car you'd save it for a couple of special track days a year, you won't want to be pounding it every week on some MSV day.

Thanks @Bibs and all.   What a feeling.  And it will be the only time in my life I am customer #1!   More pics and thoughts to follow.  But I can say this is a special car, very special.

@lotusmad2001 Yes the titanium exhaust is the same design, different material. No-one has done an empirical test that I know of (with published results) but the volume and sound are basically the same.

@LF1 Noise limits seem to be going only one way. Silverstone is the only track I can think of from memory where you would probably be OK with the standard item. A huge number of tracks are otherwise off-limits for most days, not just small ones either. Brands, for example.

Still... I'm very keen to see what's under the damn cover now lol

That's classic from a Lotus forum where they have 200 sorts of Elise and 2 launched every 6 months lol lets not go there ;-)

I know, I litterally spend 1/2 my life at them which is why my car of choice for track days is *not* a V6 Exige or Evora but a low powered caterham or occasionally an Elise. My point still stands, if you have a car like this you won't be overly put off by it you'll only want to use it on grown up track days at big circuits were noise it not an issue. Brands GP is always going to be an issue because it is just rediculious there - I can't even get my 125hp caterham with a 96db there these days.

I guess the car is going to come with a Hethel Lap time... anyone want to guess?

The 380 Cup wasn't as fast round Hethel as you'd expect from the looks... but maybe they've found more room to work within the Evora platform... Two seconds maybe? It's not a big track
