Bravo73 1,291
No worries. There are also plenty of photos of Daytona Blue Evoras. Bibs had one as a long term test: https://www.thelotusforums.com/latest-news/long-term-tests/lotus-evora-s-ips-sports-racer-its-easy-to-forget/ A TLFer also has one with a 400 front bumper. Got any more photos, @blueg33?

Popular Post cobwatch 40
Interesting figures.......using base price and Hethel lap time.....revelatory,shocking even... (400 ) £73,500 , 1:32 (410) £82,000 , 1:28.2 (430) £112,500 , 1:25.8 the 410 is 4.3% faster than the 400 and costs 12% more the 430 is 7.2% faster than the 400 and costs 53% more the 430 is 2,8% faster than the 410 and costs 37% more this is pure statistics and takes no account of desirability,feel,rarity,depreciation...emotion is not measured. Diminishing returns....... 1
cobwatch 40
It's very late here,it's hot, can't sleep, so further mulling......statistically the 410 is a hero but i wonder if that lap time was set with the Ti exhaust option(£5500).....i'm sure i read somewhere that it was.....would slow the lap by say 0.3 sec and make a BIG difference to the cost ratio...bringing the 400 back into play......my take, first tyre change bung 410 stickies on your 400 and HUSTLE that(non-Ti exhaust equipped) 410 for all it's worth..it would drive away rather than romp off.......assuming each car was non-optioned preserving the figures, if all the cars set off together, after 10 laps the 410 would be 40% of a lap ahead of the 400 and the 430 would be a further third of a lap beyond that. The 430 is bloody quick, try this...it would pass the 400 every 14 laps! There is balm for every 4xx Evora owner here i think...the 410 stands out, a simple change energises the 400 and the 430 is subject to those famous diminishing returns, although have to say JMG hasn't undersold it..... Snoopy1969 276
Michelin Cup tires might be nice for good track times, but they are not a sensible choice if you want to use your car in "real life", esp in the wet, the stopping distance increases and the behaviour in the wet is sign. worse than using a uhp tire like Corsa / Mich 4s - the Chance to have an accident like @tbd on the motorway rises with Cup 2. Also maybe the hethel track times might be nice to compare the cars, but I doubt that 95% of the People on this Forum are able to achieve this times (me included of course). On normal roads all Evora variants are much faster than needed or sensible in any Situation (ok @tbd will doubt, but the motorways in northern Germany do not have this much traffic s o m e t i m e s ....). Of course each one should buy the car he / she wants and I think it is nice that there are variants of the Evora to choose from, but to "justify" (what is not needed at all in my eyes) your decision with a faster lap time in hethel is more or less senseless. cobwatch 40
correction needed...i wrote"would slow the lap by say 0.3sec and make a big difference to the cost ratio"...should have said "would slow the lap by 0.3 sec OR make a big difference to the cost ratio..bringing the 400 back into play"....logic still holds... cobwatch 40
not sure what point you are trying to make BENTZION...decision to buy any sportscar necessarily involves emotion and the psychology wouldn't change regardless of make....just thought the statistics were interesting....it is always a judgement call juggling cost and desirability which in the end must be personal
cobwatch 40
Can the GT430 really hang with the much faster machinery in (and above) it's new price point? What about the significantly more expensive Porker 911 turbo S or Audi R8 v10 plus? Using the laptime/price stats that i dropped on here recently combined with some new research let's see if we can't shine a light........the Evora 400 did very well at the R & T pcoty '17 test snatching up the silver medal.....fared poorly on track though, dead last of the group. The 400 had the least power and torque in the test. Lotus are running up towards the limit with the current engine/gearbox combo but were able to give the 430 7.5% more power and 7.3% more torque, modest in this company and still bottom of the pile....so it's all about more tyre and aero and,of course, less weight which is the Lotus way....here are the R&T lap times 1) 911 turbo S..132.07 2)corvette GS...1.32.16 3)acura NSX...1.32.45 4)GTR-nismo...1.32.58 5)R8 v10plus...1.33.59 6)F typeSVR...1.36.31 7)m4 gts...1.36.97 8)amg c63s...1.37.30 9)Evora 400...1.39.56 Just shows how brilliantly the 400 must have performed overall to achieve p2....the 430 is 7.2% quicker round Hethel than the 400, so where does the 430 slot in on that basis....3rd on a 1.32.39...GET IN THERE! The Chevrolet with only 30hp more than the 430(but BIG torque) has ace performance and an incredible price/performance ratio....all a little speculative ,but it is revealing...the 430 CAN hang....this is over a single lap,the 430 is the lightest here so i think over 10 laps the 430 would STILL be on it whilst many of the others would have cried enough, out of brakes/tyres. In a track session over repeated laps the cream would rise to the top. Speed AND endurance. I know,i know, what about the 410 you cry.....i've done the math....to be posted on the 410 thread soon.....(it's good news)
The Pits 4,408
Which track was this? Some of those laptimes are highly dubious. New NSX faster than a Nismo GTR? Corvette does well in American test. F-Type R faster than M4 GTS? C63 faster around a track than an Evora 400? Trying to imagine a track where that might be possible.
cobwatch 40
Jonny the west circuit at the NCM motorsports park, the figures are as given by R&T. type this (road and track performance car of the year 2017 full test) you get several options, choose the option dated 3 oct 2016 for the track info. farook 39
Congrats Anthony & Mark - awesome! Great to know have we have at least 2 of the 6 here. now talking specs only three things matter: 1) colour - I look forward to the angst, the changing of minds, the emotional pulls and then the final decision ? 2) harness (six point) and bar - it HAS to have these.... 3) aircon - cos we have all gone soft, but it helps on the drives to Spa and Ring! very exciting guys ?
anthonyyule 310
You are right Farook.... colour is causing me untold grief. I need to get more information on this titanium bar..... its wildly expensive! (and I already have my own harnesses). I need to also understand Sound Deadening........ Has anybody got any experience of a 410 with and without the Sound Deadening??
farook 39
To add more emotional grief - go custom paint! ?
MartynB 244
That special feeling when your dealer rings you to say, "We've got your car. Not sure about it. Colour seems, err... Maybe you want to come look yourself". Not that a one off colour order is fraught. Oh no
The Pits 4,408
I can do some decent photoshops, invaluable for wrestling with colour choice, I should really charge something for this as it takes hours to do half decently but might make an exception for 430 owners. At least there are only 2 of you at the moment!

Watching that video has made me wonder though if I should have swapped over the the GT430, just sounds epic. 1 Quote Specialists In Quality HiFi For the Home Plus the UK's Only Dedicated Highend Headphone Shop [email protected] - 01767 448121 / www.hifilounge.co.uk / www.highendheadphones.co.uk Please Follow My TLF Blog Here - http://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/blog/88-vipers-lotus-and-hifi-blog/
