Thing is..... my contact knows that I don't track my car and he keeps tell me that "this possibly isn't for you".... which again makes me think that its track only (or some crazy SUV that I wouldn't buy!). I am enjoying it a lot.... its very exciting to see the new car getting uncloaked (even if I'm not sure if I want one or not!) This is not track only but it sure is more track oriented than a 400 and even a 410. The body work and tires are fully heading this way... Power is never the big thing, chassis and weight come first

Gold FFM C8RKH Posted July 18, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted July 18, 2017 430 bhp. More carbon. Sub 1300kg and electronic dash from 311. £98k base price. Power fold mirror switch from 1990's xtype. That's my guess anyway. 1 Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way. Yes I did - one of the first.... but Lotus sales and Lotus engineering wouldn't speak to each other and small delays became large delays once engineering realised that he carbon roof required reHomologation. So in the end I got tired of waiting and moved to 250 Cup (big mistake). Had I been told about 380 I would probably been happy but I've hankered after a V6 since moving to 4-pot. Anyway - I'm still watching the 410 (and now 380) closely.... but might be interested in this instead. really - do you think I would have been this quiet for so long if I had actually taken delivery of my planned gorgeous sky blue 410?!

I really hope not @The Pits. Unless of course those doing the moaning and offering the free business strategy advice have actually designed, built and sold cars from scratch. If not then they should shut the flook up and enjoy the fruits, or not, of Lotus skilled engineers labours. Too many armchair experts these days as it is. I'm quite looking forward to seeing this even though it is beyond what I would pay for a car. Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. Kalli
So i'm keeping my eyes peeled here. My 50/50 is due soon, and i'm assuming I'm going to be incredibly successful over the next two years - so may need to find a new Lotus..
NedaSay
At 430bhp no one here will be upset, if the car gets below 1300kg it will be ridiculously fast going inside the curves and outside of it too. Still not so secretly hoping for 450 bhp to erase the GTE mark. My question is how big is the wing and how much has to be taken from the cabin to make that weight? Can't wait to see bibs press release tomorrow. @Bibs if you don't mind staying up and posting at 1 minute past midnight to respect the embargo that would be ace. @The Pits and @JayEmm really hope you'll get to share your experience with this new piece of joy on the Youtube soon. Life goals they say. I must have a kidney to spare part of my liver would also do.
Gold FFM JayEmm Posted July 18, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted July 18, 2017 I'd love to get my hands on whatever it is but getting a Lotus press vehicle still eludes me. I am very lucky, as with @The Pits That a few dealers are very supportive of our efforts. FWIW to get under 1300kg you'd have to shave at least 140kg from a 400, probably around 70kg from a 410. Not sure that's possible within reasonable budget and not just building a race car which would be horrible on the road. 1 Quote James Martin (JayEmm) Director of Photography & Car Enthusiast Follow my Lotus adventure online! www.jayemm.com
ramjet
7 hours ago, mik said: No - it's an easy-weekly-checks special. Viewing apertures provided for near-instantaneous front and rear tyre tread checks without having to roll around under the car. There are further speed-holes over the dipstick, brake and coolant reservoirs, and a quick-fill funnel over the screen wash. It's an homage to F1 pit-stops. Probably. And when the wheels are not on the car, the rear apertures also allow quick viewing of the pad condition in the rear brakes. Function over form. Love it.
