Thanks....so it’s their laters version of a slotted rotor which is what I figured

many do state drilled crack, I had AP Racing drilled rotors on my last car, never a issue with cracking however being a Saab, also nowhere close to a track car!

Respect to  @KG for the very positive approach and perseverance in realising ‘the art of the possible’ despite the considerable hassle & substantial costs involved.

Your very close now to getting the GT430 you wanted. Plus have definitely outdone most of us Lotus fanboys in your ‘holy grail’ quest for the exact spec!

Adding “liteness” to the Evora GT.

CF battery weighs 4.4 pounds and drops another 30+ pounds from existing setup!

Met up with a few other GT430 owners yesterday. Incredible car.

A total animal when you want it to be, refined when you don't. Agile as a fly but also very stable and composed. Exquisite to drive fast and slow. Quality of the damping never gets old. Mesmerising!

And a perfect synopsis of the GT430 those words are 🙂

Just reading the specs, I notice that the IPS vs manual gearbox max speed is 174mph vs 190mph respectively; that is a huge difference!

It was the same with the 400 - 174mph vs 186mph, but given that the auto has shorter gears and a quicker shift it should in theory accelerate quicker, which is more useful in the real world.

1st through 4th yes, but the auto/IPS has taller 5th and 6th hence the lower top speed. The final drive ratio of the auto is different to the manual too.

Yup it’s nice to know the car has been engineered to run to a very high top speed but I seriously doubt I’ll ever exceed 174mph in my car. Never got near the top speed of my Exige V6 either, or exceeded the speed limit of the Roadster version as it happens. I did do 195mph on a motorbike once. Quite happy not to repeat that!

All,

I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Dave and I'm currently on my 4th Lotus which is an Exige V6. I am wanting to upgrade to the GT430 but I have hit a stumbling block with my insurance company that they won't insure over £66k.

While I appriciate this isn't an insurance thread, it is a GT430 one and I would like to know those companies that the current owners like Trvor, Bibs etc use if possible. I really do not want to go to the standard insurance sites so I'm looking for specialists in the area.

Thanks guys and great forum btw.

DCMP.

Welcome to TLF Dave. :welcome:

You should duck over to the Introductions area and say hi as well.

Make sure you are armed with photos or we'll just keep asking. :)

I use Classicline Insurance, as does Trevor I believe. Up to 6 trackdays cover included providing you give them 48 hours notice.

Blimey! Thread resurrection! Dave posted in August 18, I had the pleasure of leading & following Dave’s GT430 to the Lotus 70th at Hethel last year. The car was traded in against another olive green GT430 with B&C and Jamie worked his magic on Dave

I missed the date of his post and this topic turned up in my 'View New Content'.

As I was reading through it to 'moderate' if there was anything I needed to do, I came across the post from dcmp. Didn't take any note of the date. I was on my phone in a break from a course I was on.

I'll use that as an excuse. :)

Had a great day yesterday with @ken2020 SBsuspension adding lightness with Ohlins and awesome breaking power with Jhooks! I know many have described how the Ohlins transform the car and I was “shocked” at the difference on how the car responds and feels while driving and the steering is just out of this world with this.

Lotus absolutely needs to change here in the US and get these kits the proper coverage with the car it deserves!

I am thrilled at how the transformation is coming along but damn is it pricey and Lotus has missed a massive market opportunity with this car! Just massive!
