And has a ghastly looking orange and white stripe painted, yes I do believe it is painted, over the left hand side. That would be an expensive cock-up to rectify. Get rid of the stripes, brake colour change to orange and it would look a lot better. Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. Yup. We realise they are not the same car. I think the point was we were saying we liked the GT430 so the poster was asking why the 400 in the same colour was still hanging around at the dealers. The 400 was a special edition that to my eyes was not special! 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies! The Pits 4,408
Take away the nostalgia and historic motorsport association and I don’t think many people would go for baby powder blue. Not a fan of it on any car except a GT40 replica.

Not a fan of it on any car except a GT40 replica. I actually thought on that GT430 it looked superb and I'd be very happy to have it in my garage, even without the history associations. I jut thought it suited the GT430 perfectly and the orange lines on the front lip were very subtle. The whole car in that picture just looks very sharp, crisp and modern. The 400 on the other hand just really does look shite - those offset orange and yellow stripes are meh (imvho) and as they are painted on (I believe) I think it seriously restricts the appeal of the car to a new owner as they would be very expensive to fix. Someone out there will buy it. It will just take time to find the right owner.. Nostalgia and historic motorsport associations do work though, let's face it, Lotus have been living off them for years with the red/white/gold of the red stripe team, the black and gold JPS, the yellow or red or blue with the gold stripe and white sills of the "sprint" cars etc. It's just that particular car does not work even though the scheme was "chosen" by Lotus fans on Facebook. The Pits 4,408
Gulf blue car only proves that the GT430 manages to look good in any colour. Even powder puff blue. 1
Gold FFM C8RKH 6,262 Posted January 20, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 20, 2020 Notwithstanding your well documented bias re the GT430, I believe you could say the same of all Evora's (without crappy orange/white stripes) looking good in any colour. Shame. Back on topic , seems GT430’s are at an attractive price point now. Can see one of these being on my shortlist in next 12 months. 1 Quote Previously owned :Exige 380, Exige 350, Evora 400, Exige V6S, Esprit GT3, 2-11 SC, Evora S, Elite

Hakim0v 50
Guys I have a technical question: is it normal to have slower gas pedal response when revving slowly, if the exhaust valve is open compared to closed? The car is cold and in parking mode. U feel, with valve open, like a bit of choking from the engine when u press the pedal, in the 1st 2500 rpm, that goes away when I close the valve. thx Edited January 31, 2020 by Hakim0v
The Pits 4,408
Sorry UK cars can’t open the valves at low rpm so I can’t help. All of the Lotus V6 cars run rich generally and sometimes can be a bit slow to react to quick stabs of the throttle. Best to keep it above 5000rpm!

But you could disconnect the valve so it's always open. I mean, why have a beast of a car with the roar of a puddy cat? No open exhaust valve on startup/all the time would be a reason for me NOT to buy a GT430.... lol... 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh!
