Esprit For Sale In Classic Car Weekly

For anyone interested there is a trader selling a 1990 Esprit in last weeks Classic car weekly.

The picture looks like an SE with the rear spoiler and the SE front bumper and fogs although it is advertised as a "Lotus Esprit" , no mention of turbo or SE.

Red with black leather, new MOT and service.

What is going on? People are giving these things away.

I just read that an SE in #1 condition sold for $13,000 at an auction in Arizona last month. That is crazy.

Have not see the issue, look to the sills mate, very often in the 'wheels-spoiler-bumper'

upgrade common to early Esprits, the sills are nearly always left as-is. Can you see if

they have a dip in the middle (Turbo) or are flat (SE)?

Values are scary. I know and have spoken to owners that are actively not shouting about what

they have recently sold their Esprits for, as they don't want to lower the market even more for

everyone else. Very thoughtful, but when you know the sale values you understand.

Yea, I've notice prices of Stevens Esprit's and SE's over the last year taking a tumble. It's a real shame, they're at a real low point at the moment, they're stuck in a horrible place; old but still to new to be regarded as a classic. I don't think ebay has helped much either.

On a positive not, Giugiaro prices are looking up, there's a low miler G car in the back of this months Octane mag for a shade under
