S2 Bearing wear on the drive shaft

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I was intending to rebuild both drive shafts with new UJ's today but noticed an indentation where the bearing would normally sit on both shafts.

The erosion is noticeable but in reality probably less than half a mil across the diameter.

Is this a common problem and does this mean that the shaft ends are 'right offs'?

Would really appreciate your thoughts on this?

Cheers

Mark

As long as the bearing is a good tight fit so that it doesn't slide on the shaft then I think it should be fine.

Mike at Lotus Bits thought it was scrap because of the erosion!

That's like asking a barber if he thinks you need a haircut.
