Looks epic!

Isn’t that the press car?  Had that as my screensaver for many years.

The story that I have been told is, A chap goes to Earls court motor show, see's the above and says I want one the same,

The records say that there were only 3 painted that colour that year, and one I think went to the states.

Lovely, nice to see a V8-GT get this sort of treatment but very unusual. Definitely better now than when it was new. Would be even nicer without the wing for me which looks like rank hypocrisy to anyone who knows what I’ve just put in the garage but the whole thing about the V8-GT was a return to the wingless silhouette.

I drove the gold press car at Castle Combe back in the day alongside a load of other cars as part of an Auto Express test. It really stood out for me and I bought one shortly afterwards.

That looks amazing, a work of art!

This sahara gold V8 belonged to Mike Bews, his was the one fitted with Sport 350 wheels from new due to the AWI problems at the time.

This is the last post on here about it from 2009 and it was the press car :)

Following that thread through, I think the car is now owned by Scott @Lepsons Swindon

Andy:

Please forgive me as I'm new to the forum....First, wonderful work on the car. It's wonderfully detailed...as it should be. Secondly: have you documented your work here on the site?  I'd love to have the opportunity to chart the work you've done. Well done!

Bob
