Don't forget to replicate the subtle curve in the long section of the hockey stick coolant pipes to clear the gearshift master unit. Only a Muppet would fit them straight and have to remove and refit them. Ask me how I know...

Not worth starting anything now...🍺

Gearstick unit is all fitted back in - my hammering skills today have been very good indeed. I will go and have another wobble of my stick.

yup @eeyoreish I can confirm my stick wobbles - and wobbles all around

You sure do work fast Barry. I'm hoping there will be no comparisons when I get to that stage. 😄

This covid lockdown does have its advantages. I’m trying to do it in smaller work chunks as I simply haven’t got the focus id normally have.

ive ordered more bits this afternoon for the cold air intake. Some nice stainless plate is coming from my local source to fit where the old airfilter went for the water header tank and catch can (Cheers for hiding that when it came Danny 😂) to be fitted to.

Body bolted on. Front mounts to be shimmed yet - but I’ve now found the shims - so they are still to be tightened. Pedal box was not fun to refit - but it’s on.

fans wired, all front pipes fitted, tank crossover pipe, air con pipes, handbrake cable, one pas pipe (need to do the feed pipe). Clutch bled up. Brake servo to be piped up next - just need to make a small bracket to raise the bias valve slightly. I shall leave that until tomorrow.

so the car now goes up and down on the ramp with less tentacles dragging 😂

Oil and coolant ordered this morning. Plate collected to mount header tank where the old air filter unit was. Brake unions made off.

just having a brew and I’ll connect up the wiring in the engine bay and start looking at the header tank location.

Going through the exact same issue with the seats in mine at the moment.

Why are you moving the coolant tanks and what are you doing with the air filter now?

Ahh bollocks I knew something went there :wallbash:

all will be revealed though - involves some silicon hose, some reducers, a hole saw and a nice carbon cold air intake unit. I simply am not willing to refit that poxy elephants trunk.

seats are easy enough to do - thin cutting disc and slot along the bolt heads and weld - then knock out with a hammer. Spot weld new ones in situ. This time I only needed to do 1.

OK two questions

1. Did you win?

2. Did you apply the Steptoe and Son rules?

No - my bastard son had a S on his rack at the end of the bag of letters and snuck in a word off a word.

Now I’m really intrigued - what’s the steptoe and son rules ?
