Gold FFM Popular Post Barrykearley Posted January 23 Author Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted January 23 It’s been a while - but I blew the dust off the esprit this morning and took her for a long awaited run out. Roads a bit slippy when boost comes on - but had a lovely run. back home fo4 a sweep out of the garage and back onto prepping the vitesse for paint. 3 Quote Only here once
Gold FFM Popular Post Barrykearley Posted March 6 Author Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted March 6 There’s been far too much going on recently and today - I had some time to do something just for me. Now anyone who knows me will indeed know I’m not a great car cleaner. But - I yesterday remembered a conversation I had with Swindon Alan when we were in my garage poking the V8. He told me I needed to clay bar a car before waxing. So this morning - I picked up a clay bar kit and some decent wax. I have to say - the paint cleaned up amazingly. If you’ve never done this then I would highly recommend having a go. 7 Quote Only here once

Gold FFM tomcattom Posted March 6 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 6 Definitely worth doing and looks to have worked a treat for you there. I've fully detailed all of my cars for years but not done my Esprit. Not sure there's much point wasting the time or the clay bar on mine, given the state and number of different shades of yellow it is 😆 1 Quote Norfolk Mustard S4s #
Gold FFM Barrykearley Posted March 6 Author Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 6 @tomcattom the front is absolutely peppered with stone chips and there’s many a paint fault. However it does look very presentable following that effort today. It’s the nicest I’ve ever managed to get it and I only spent maybe an hour and half. It’s truly silky to feel. When you wash a car, you think it is clean...BUT THEN you immediately rub the clay bar across it, and wonder how you missed all that dirt. 🙄 PLUS the finish is sooo smoooth after claying. PS: There is no need to use expen$ive sprays to lubricate the bar. Just a second coating of soapy water works a treat to lubricate the bar. 2 Quote Atwell Haines '88 Esprit Succasunna, NJ USA

Gold FFM C8RKH Posted March 13 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 13 Gotta do it @Barrykearley. You know it makes sense bud! Think McLaren have extended used warranties to now cover up to 15 years old, where ten before. No brainer really and the 12C and the 650 are superb cars. 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Gold FFM Barrykearley Posted March 14 Author Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 14 now I was thinking that. It’s not as clear cut as that since it’ll have to be listed as an asset of value. Yes I’ve checked 🤭 It’s a fantastic man maths dilemma Quote Only here once
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted March 14 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 14 You buy it Barry. Sell it to me for half the price. I'll keep it in the garage then sell it back for same price as long as I get to drive it the once from my garage to your gaff. 1 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! Gold FFM Popular Post Barrykearley Posted March 20 Author Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted March 20 What a lovely walk Alice and I had with the dog yesterday. saw parts of Worcester I simply never knew existed - the esprit looked fantastic parked up in the carpark - it amazing how it sits so comfortably sideways 🤪- I’ve no idea why resizing pics twists the image. then proof if ever you need it an Esprit is indeed and immensely practical family car. 6 2 Quote Only here once

Gold FFM Popular Post Barrykearley Posted March 20 Author Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted March 20 Upto Shelsley Breakfast club this morning. There was an Evora GT410 which @C8RKH would have loved - I notice that one was also missing the rear seats in it. A stunning volcano orange 12C spider which really helped my lusting. on the way back home we went through Bromyard and tried out the new tarmac up the back road of the trading estate. Laid a signature on the road. I felt like I was 11 all over again. I promise. @windymiller I never did this in the Evora - the lack of LSD always stopped me 🤪 3 1 Quote Only here once

They don't photograph well but in the flesh I think they look awesome. The whale tail at the back is epic when viewed from the back at a 45 degree angle. Also, having lived with mine now for a few years, I actually prefer to the interior to the S1. The S1 was superb for it's time, but the 4xx's is very usable. 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs.
