NedaSay 836
@Bibs looks like a pretty nice spec. Are these the carbon SPX seats? Hard to believe that this design is almost 10 years. PAR 267
How does it compare to the 400 and 410 inside? Does it look like a 400 when 2+2 and a 410 when in 2+0? I wonder what the plan is for the 400. I find that the 400 is a great entry price and would be a shame to get it to disappear but if they update the body like they did from the 430 to the 410, it will be quite redundant... mynpersonal feel is that there is space for cars between 300 and 500bhp as proven by a certain car maker but current volume won’t make it easy to keep a wide range. i am wondering how sales in the US have been going considering it is the only model available there so wide range more justified there. Gold FFM C8RKH 6,265 Posted February 18, 2018 Gold FFM Report Share Posted February 18, 2018 400 with the new nose and either the new back bumper or current at around £75k plus options with standard +2 GT410 at £85k with +2 at extra cost GT430's starting at £110k (I think for) with no +2 or maybe with extra cost I'd have thought that would keep everyone happy. Specc'ed up my Gt410 and it would be almost bang on £100k but what a car it would be....... Just need the balls to do it - never ever spent anywhere near that on a car before and finding it hard to justify but christ have Lotus made it hard. I do think that even at £100k the GT410 (in my preferred spec) is a fair and good price for a lot of car. 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! Bruss 579
Won't they just drop the 400 all together if they are thinking of putting the new body panels on? New 400 or 410, no difference. Edited February 18, 2018 by Bruss

New 400 or 410, no difference. If you get a 2+2 the gt410 should get you 10bhp more and potentially 100kgs less. Assuming the 400 keep the old tail gate, this would be slightly easier usage. I personally prefer the 400 tailgate although it does cost performance wise. maybe if they go for an update of the 400 with the new bumper, they could increase slightly the gap by making 395 and get back below the 225g emission tax band. New 400 or 410, no difference. I'd like to see them keep the 400 as a "softer" car, with it's +2 configuration, to the GT cars. Not everyone will want the more focused GT spec. Just an opinion and can see where you are coming from. I also think that if they could sell the 400 at say £70k then that would be a good price point for them. Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Breeze 111
I enjoy my Evora as a GT, It's superb at long distance trips, driving around Europe. I didn't want a track focused car, and I suspect I'm not alone in that. My 365 Whp Elise S1 was very track focused, went like hell, was great fun...in small doses. It was however too hard core to use as an everyday road car. I wish I'd had the suspension much more road orientated for example. The people who wish to have a track focused car are a really tiny percent of the market, and I think it's not a good idea to focus the marketing too much towards them at the exclusion of everyone else. I'd guess that Porsche sell very few GT3's as a percent of total 911 sales. I very much hope the new style bumpers will be put on the 400. I have never taken to the snow plough arrangement on the the 400, it seems completely at odds with the rest of the car's design. The new bumpers on the other hand, blend beautifully with the Evora design.

I completely agree with your other comment re the snow plough look. I was considering the Malaysian 410/430 copy bumpers for my S1 to save some weight but have decided that even they are too angular. The Lotus 410/430 design just blends in so well with the original Lotus 'look'. Edited February 19, 2018 by Bruss
Breeze 111
It's also a great shame, IMO, that Lotus have fallen into the mode of a base price for a stripped down car, and then charge as extras just about everything you'd ever need to make the thing a comfortable, useable everyday road car. Frankly Lotus...It sucks. My S1 Sport Racer was a totally equipped car for the price paid, there were no extras. I love the look of the new 410, but by the time you add in everything I've already got on my S1 Sr, I'd be looking at a £100k car. I can't honestly see the value in it.! ...... Also, I don't really like all the yellow Halfords tat on the inside, it would be much better if it matched the rest of the interior. Still, I guess it could be specked out for an extra ££££'s
Gold FFM C8RKH 6,265 Posted February 19, 2018 Gold FFM Report Share Posted February 19, 2018 The S1 SR was a fully optioned model like the Hethel 400. In base form the 400 has all you could want. The 410 and 430 are more focused sports models that can be specified softer if I have got it right. The 400 with a targa is what is needed now. Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! Still, I guess it could be specked out for an extra ££££'s My understanding from specifying and ordering a GT410 Sport the other day is that you do not have to have the 'Halfords' look (which I believe could also be red - other colours may be available). My choice was to match these parts with the black/grey of the interior. I believe this is a no cost option. Incidentally, there are a number of other options, cost and no cost, which Lotus do not mention on their website but a good dealer should be able to advise on these. 1 Quote Elise S sold February 2018.
