Headlight Motor

I need to get a new drivers side headlamp motor for my 2001 Esprit. Looking at the x ref list, it is not clear whether the motor comes from a 84-96 corvette or the newer C5 corvette. Can anybody confirm this for me? A part # would be even better

I'm rather cerrtain it's the earlier C4 Corvette...

I agree, I'm pretty sure its from the C4. I have looed at a few on US e-bay and they appear to be identical to the Esprit ones. One point to note (not major). There are two varients of the motor that externally look identical. The earlier ones had a smaller armeture and hence lower torque, the later (from about '97 I think) had a larger more powerful armeture. I think the breather position on the case changed very slightly too (to reduce the chance of water getting in). They are interchangable, but if you mix the two the headlamps will probably go up and down at different speeds!

I am having new brushes made at the moment and have new bearings on order, so within a few weeks I will be able to offer re-conditioned motors on an exchange basis. Should also be able to offer re-con kits for those brave enough to give it a go (actually, not too difficult at all).
