Welcome - very nice car you have there. Someone’s picked up lots of nice bits and added them over the years.

If you spend just a few 💷 and join as a member - I’m pretty sure all that stuff you require is in the download section for members 👍

if it’s not - I’m sure someone can email you them 😉

Wecome to TLF HsPeck. :welcome:

Are you sure it is not a V8 as it has the decals in the window as well as all the body parts of a V8 from what I can see. A photo of the engine will tell us one way or the other. Does have the old style dash and Marina door handles though.

You should duck over to the Introductions area and say hi in there as well.

It is not a V8 ... hahahah

I would say the previous owner did a very good job converting the exterior to look like a V8.

Will pop over to the introduction area. Thanks.

Funny that you should say that ... It is actually leaking fuel at the inner carb... Hahah..

Agree with all the above - a very nice example - the Singapore climate has clearly suited the car well.

I've no idea of prices in the region but I feel that you've likely grabbed a bargain.

I'm interested in what is the small reservoir on the left above the exhaust cam?

I guess there is another bit that I may be missing or moved by previous owners?

Best of luck

I was told the previous owner retrofitted a power steering from an S4, but Steve from SJ Sports told me it was highly unlikely ... how do I tell what steering it has I wonder ....

Hi,

Leaking fuel at the inner carb isn't something you should take light. It is the exact reason why already more then one esprit is completely destroyed in an engine compartment fire.

The inner carb is just above the distributor and a high voltage spark and fuel dripping dont go well toghether.

You really shouldnt be driving the car as long as this is not fixed. Best thing to do is bying a carb revision set and replace all seals. It'll be good for a long time.

Geert

Thanks gvy for the advise.

I am sending the car straight to the workshop to sort out a few stuffs and will not be driving it till all are done. Need to refresh all the bushes and do some repair on the 2nd gear .... waiting for parts from SJ ...

Start the engine and try to turn the wheel. On my old na it took 2 hands to turn it. It was impossible with one.

But ^malcolm is correct - it will be very obvious if you have power steering 👍

The car definitely has power steering .....

I am just not sure what was retrofitted into the car ..  was told it was the system from an S4, but I am not sure how to tell and identify

They used an S4 bottle - i’d guess they ripped a system off a breaker car at some point.

get the car up in the air and look at the steering rack.
