Can anyone advise if the teeth on a fly wheel can be repaired?  i guess they are not hardened by the look of them.  What causes damage like this? Some teeth are worse than on the picture.  Never had any engaging problems though.

Upgrade today to remove Google ads and support TLF.

I would say, as long as it's not too far out of balance, don't worry. They're only for the starter to engage with,  on your car they don't even have input to timing.

Perhaps have a firm check for balance and adjust if necessary.

Maybe a non pre engaged starter motor was previously fitted for a while.
