Feffman
Hi All: A buddy had his Esprit V8 (1997) engine rebuilt recently by a reputable Lotus mechanic in the US but the car just isn't right. Upon start up, the car will idle fine but after a few (3-5 minutes) minutes the right bank (passenger side in the USA) just sputters, running very rough. If he drives the car it runs fine. At accelration from idle there's a hesitation. Timing belt has been checked for proper install (OK) New fuel filter Fuel pressure checked (OK) I'm thinking idle air control valve, but looking for ideas. Feel free to offer ideas at [email protected] Happy Lotusing! Mark Pfeffer [email protected] Quote MVP Track Time
Paula&Marcus
Hi Mark, I know this sounds very strange, but please have him check the O2-sensors location. If you cross/mix-up the right vs. the left ones one bank will lean out and the other one will rich up totally. Its very strange, I know, but it may happen ... don't ask me why I know that ;o/ Cheers Marcus Hi All: A buddy had his Esprit V8 (1997) engine rebuilt recently by a reputable Lotus mechanic in the US but the car just isn't right.
