Yes, I think it was about a woman crying about an Esprit being left in Argentina after being driven (successfully I must add!) offroad. 🙂

So rather dirty (just how I like 'em) Evora is sitting in the car park of a park whilst I'm sat on a bench in the sun nearby on yet another bloody conference call with work (yeah, the mum's in the park probably had me marked down as some sort of an evil paedo - ho hum!). Boy of about 6 see's my car, runs over to it dragging his 6ft 17 stone plus Dad with him - only mention it as it was funny to see, maybe you had to be there.....

Anyway he is all over the car, running around it shouting wowwww and phwoarrr but keeping a safe distance from it. Then he goes over to the front wheel arch and gives it a gentle stroke over the top of the body where it curves up for the wheel.  Right, that was it. WTF I thought!  So I put myself on mute (on the phone, not me personally), jumped up and shouted "Oi" - quick as a flash the little brat swings around - "fancy a sit in it mate" I shouts!  His little eyes nearly popped out of his head and his smile cracked his face to pieces. Blip blip and the door is opened and in he clambers!  Dad looking at me a bit sheepishly says "sorry he is mad about cars".  No problem I says, take as long as he wants. Take some pictures of him driving it. No problem pal. Next minute he's popping the buttons and the petrol flap springs up and he's reaching up, lifting up the carbon whale tail (yes, they really are that light and with no gas struts) and all I can hear is "corrrrrrrr, dad, look at the engine".

Well 20 minutes later and I'm still on the conference call.  Little lad has finished his forensic inspection of the car (including crawling underneath it!) and he comes running right up. Massive beam on his face. Eyes still on stalks.  "Thanks Mister, what a car. Lovely car that. it's a Lotus isn't it"  I smile back, nod and off he skips both him and his dad beaming away and a big thumbs up from the dad too.

Sort of brings you back down to earth as to just how lucky we are to be able to caretake a Lotus and just how much love there is still out there for nice motors.  Well lad and dad had their day made. But I also have to admit it made my bloody day as well seeing such a young lad so happy.

Forgot to mention, he spent a good 3 or 4 minutes trying to open the "boot" at the front!   Lol. Bless him. Had to tell him in the end to look through the front grills to see the radiators that cooled the engine. He then went and inspected every air vent / scoop and told me which one were to cool the engine. Great kid btw. No doubt he'll have a blog and youtube channel in a couple of years, maybe when he is 10! 

The various mothers still looked at me like I was an old paedo!

I start the engine. Son slouches lower in seat covering his face a little. "does it have to be so loud when it starts!?". 🙄

Yes, son. It does. 😁

We weren't even near the school gate. Next time I'll have to pick him up right outside the gate and give it a good rev when we leave. 🤣

Was at a BTCC meeting in 2016 when the 400 was about a month old. Camping next to the M3 crowd, who insisted in calling it the Lotus Ebola.

@Yan I’ve had the same with my daughter, although she wants me to dress as the Stig for her prom.  

 All my in-laws are Japanese and so are a lot of my friends. I have that problem all the time but it's accidental.

In the midst of my little road trip with my young daughter in Highlands had a load of reactions which I will list in another thread later

However one which struck me was the many nods from the motorcycle fraternity ! Couldn’t wave back quick enough so felt a little ignorant but they wizzed by

I had forgotten the reaction this car causes, not been able to use it much during Covid, so taking it out in public is a novelty.

Took 'Ethel' for a little run into Howth near Dublin yesterday. With the weather in Ireland everyone is out and about enjoying the weather. Lotus' are rare in Ireland and Evora's even more so, don't think I've seen another one here.

Everyone we passed was staring, thumbs uping or making positive comments. We nearly caused an accident when the driver of a car was hanging out of his window trying to take a photo.

My GF made a comment which summed it up "Why is everyone one sta.... oh of course I forgot which car we are in, and how much attention it gets."

Gotta love this car.

What I do find a little worrying in my experience is quite a lot of drivers coming in the opposite direction tend to drift towards the Evora. I presume that this is because they are staring and your hands tend to take you where you are looking.

It happens quite a bit though and it's quite disconcerting.

on my way home today thinking i need some milk so either i stop at this petrol station or bp garage m&s, almost past turn in on first station i see's thia gorgeous blonde just wearing a shirt with a belt so disc brakes put to the full test hand brake turn in front of lorry i decide to get my milk from this station and she didnt notice the car at all 😆😄🤣

Strange reaction 

there’s a chap I cant tell how old as wearing helmet but he rides a scooter past the house twice a day at least probably going to and from work.

every time he goes past the house he paps his horn without fail strange 🤔😳

Just been looking at some of my road trip footage and reminded me of an reaction

at a petrol station an elderly chap who was fuelling his luxury type of camper van came up to me in the petrol station as I was paying. 
said to me lovely car shame you can’t carry a bike ? I said I could , he laughed he then said like to swap and similes 

I said I think I will stick to my car to enjoy the glorious roads ahead in Glencoe area 😀

as I left the shop a chap standing outside as you could only have a couple of people in shop any one time, said your daughter lucky to have her ride in dad’s car and bet it’s great to drive in these roads , as he was talking he was taking a picture on phone. 

got back in the car my daughter says dad there’s loads of people looking at the car what did that old man say to you as was ages looking at the car before going into the shop! I told her as we went on our way

During a brilliant day trip up to "Mecca" (Hethel) with @jep to collect something *very* special, while rolling through New Buckenham in the Sport 410, exhaust echoing off of the walls as usual. We approached a family with 3 young boys, upon seeing the car approaching one boy immediately started pointing at the Lotus Logo on his new Norwich FC football shirt while shouting "Lotus! Lotus!". An impromptu mini-rev seemed appropriate 😄 

If it can create brand recognition and an emotional attachment to Lotus for someone that young, "me thinks" the shirt sponsorship/marketing is doing its job!
