Peoples’ reaction to your Evora

Went to Ashdown forest last week and parked up in a quiet carpark. Young girl and lad emerge lad says 'WOW! WOW! Lotus, WOW!' the girl says 'we love your car!'

Also went to West Wittering, driving behind a family car, kids notice the car and start staring out the back. Slightly uncomfortable driving along with two faces starting at you from the car in front!

Yesterday I unloaded my supermarket trolley into the Evora boot and returned it to the shelter at the same time as a 'mid 30's' woman had unloaded hers into the boot of a newish Audi TT Coupe that was parked one empty space from my Evora and was returning hers.  As I got into my Evora she walked past and said "Shouldn't have parked near you. Thought my TT was quite stylish but now it just looks so big and tall  - that's very nice, love the cream interior " ... (I had noticed her TT had a much bigger boot but I didn't say anything ..)

Always wise not to comment women on the size of their boot. 😄

Sounds like she did see the light though. Parked near a Lotus most other cars do seem big and clumsy.

Thought these days some women were putting in filler to get a bigger boot(y)  ..😆   surely they'd like to be told it's BIG.

The Evora certainly has a nice booty, that doesn't need any work.

Went into town today and since it was a nice day I thought I'd take the Evora as it was an opportunity to give the newly-replaced clutch hydraulics a good workout.

At one pedestrian crossing, a young couple (I say young - they were probably about mid-30s which is young to me, ) were waiting to cross from the other side of the road so the guy was looking to his right watching for the traffic stopping and didn't see me approaching from his left.

As they started over the crossing, he then looked left at which point he stopped in his tracks and his jaw visibly dropped open,  - his wife/girlfriend/partner/walking companion (other alternatives are available) literally had to drag him to the pavement as the lights were changing, where he then stood still open-mouthed until I'd proceeded some way down the road.

I suppose my P&J does have a certain 'presence' in full-frontal (ooh-err missus) aspect.

My daughter started private school and the rather large car park and all the waiting areas are a mass of range rovers , various other suv , a few various Porsche, odd Lamo and a couple of Ferraris

so what you expect from supposed high and mighty of the county. My Evora parked up and I try and keep to a remote spot as i Don’t trust the soccer/rugby mums driving to busy doing their makeup !! 
 

as I return to my car with daughter a young lad with his grandad shouting out it’s a Ferrari to which I replied no it’s more special it’s a Lotus !

To my delight the grandad said yes I told him it’s Lotus spotted the badge much Prettier than an Italian car , he then said to me I love your Lotus not seen that type up close wonderful shape car 🚗😀

Went out with the wife for a pun lunch the other day and had a nice chap say nice lotus and asked a few questions about it, then later on another guy and his Mrs/partner etc ask if they could take some photos. 
Almost every time I am out in it someone asks about the car. It’s nice as people love the fact it’s a lotus and not a fezza or Porsche.

Was in Henley yesterday, there were loads of people cheering and waving union flags as I drove down the road, they had even got a marching band to follow me down the road.

Might have been because I managed to accidentally find myself at the head of an organised parade through town, but I'm taking it.

Yesterday Went to a local car show in Leicestershire town of Hinckley been a couple of times in last 4 years 

I was fortunate to end up going into an area where 5 other Excel owners were allocated also a couple of M100 were in same, my picture shows, wish I had taken picture of the Excel owners lovely guys 

awful heavy rain didn’t dampen our resolve to stay the day but as the rain gave way to sun the crowds arrived.

one of the Excel owners during the day had to help me out with numerous questions about my Evora as I couldn’t speak to several people at same time ! Lol 

Excel owner said to me at end of the day your Evora attracted a lot of interest, not sure if I was little embarrassed for the Excel owners ? 🤔

Came out of the supermarket yesterday and as I approached my Evora parked all on it's own I spotted an elderly gent wandering around it and peering inside. I asked him if he liked it and he replied "it's beautiful but I might have difficulty getting in and out" .. I opened the door and said "Try it" and while I unloaded the trolley into the boot he got in quite easily - because I slide the seat back to get out and forward after I'm back in.  I took my trolley to the shelter and returned to my car and he got out quite easily with the biggest of smiles and said "I want one."

He asked about mpg, I said "mid 20's when I boot it round the lanes when it's all 3rd gear, but much higher on a run.  I'm now driving carefully because I'm low on fuel and getting higher mpg round the lanes" and he mentioned the local garage was out of diesel and E10 unleaded so they had nozzle covers padlocked and cones across the entrance but still had E5 Super working.

Drove 1/2 mile to the only local garage, others are 15 miles away, through the cones, straight up to the pump and filled up, £55, and Range now showing 365 miles so I'm back to 'booting it.'

Washing the car the other day (not in the rain!), it generally takes a long time as everyone stops to discuss the car so you are interrupted every 3-4 minutes.

One guy stops to say, is that a late series Elise?

No I say it's an Evora

"Eleera, Eveesa..." So on

I gave up in the end and just said it's a bigger more comfortable Lotus.

I also suppose what you consider to be elderly, when I was in my 20's 50 seemed elderly..
