Peoples’ reaction to your Evora

Probably not a lot of people here who would admit to this. But, I agree. While the Evora is a great driving car, it really is, if I saw them every time I turned the corner I would probably be way less interested in them. Call me vein if you must.

No, vein only! 😁 Maybe that makes me vain. I don't know.

I’ll give the ‘mericans Vein, but if uses the word color, or starts talking pants I’ll take exception.  :popo:

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

My first overtly negative reaction this afternoon, in traffic a man made the universal w*nker sign and mouthed it at me from a distance. As it happened with traffic I pulled up right next to him stopped for several seconds (he was going the other way, so really right next to me), so I took the opportunity to ask (politely, I should add) why in particular I was a w*nker. Sadly he rolled he window up and avoided eye contact.

Always some.

Always some.

After spending the day at Scarborough and getting loads of positive reactions to my car I had a chav scallywag by himself on the pavement make a point of leaning out into the road and do a full on w*nker sign the other day in Scarborough when I was driving past. I gave him the thumbs up and a big smile.

Usually it's when there with a Crowd but he was alone.... I found it very bemusing for him to do it for his own pleasure alone.

Er........gents  - I wouldn't be so indelicate as to ask a lady -  what please is the "universal/full on w*nker sign"?   Led a sheltered life and now worried I've been giving friendly responses where none was deserved. :ermm:

Tim and Jonny, highly illustrative, thank you!   Dare I say I asked the question somewhat tongue in cheek, or is that opening the way to further responses that may get all three of us banned?

Anyway I'm pleased now confidently to report that people I come across with my Evora don't seem to have that on their minds at the time.

Thanks again!

Driving through Melton this morning saw a young lad early 20’s look at me coming towards him but I had to halt due to traffic

he looked at me and the car then gestured to rev the engine up , I politely declined as all the cattle in truck next to me would have stampeded ?

however I must observe the following ?

is it me but the worst drivers are Audi Q drivers with Range Rovers not far behind ?

Especially around rural areas where I travel I notice how aggressive they drive when coming towards me or behind me in traffic ? Wonder if it’s just me or has anyone experienced similar? The usual white van are generally ok in my experience ?

Reactions to the 410 continue to be largely positive. Everyone thinks it's a lambo or Ferrari.

I have however again had a negative reaction on the road with a w anchor sign from a car behind. Second time it's happened. Never experienced with any of my other cars. Again I think because none car people assume it's an F or L car it gets that reaction. Posh cars aren't that common where I live so I guess you'll get a polarised response.

Last night, our local racing circuit (Knockhill) held the first of what it hopes to be a regular monthly 'social meet' with "all makes and models" welcome so, with the night off, I thought I'd go along for a look.

The tone was kind of set as soon as I drove through the gate when I heard "Huh, it's only a Lotus" being uttered.

It turned out to be basically a 'Chavfest' with the some out on the track demonstrating their complete lack of car control skills whilst others indulged in a contest to see who could keep their engine bouncing off the rev-limiter the longest without the pistons flying out through the bonnet.

Not the sort of company an Evora should be keeping so I left soon afterwards, escorted to the main road by a 51 plate SEAT Leon diesel showing me just how close he could accelerate up to my rear bumper without actually making contact - I suppose he had to get near so that I could fully appreciate the 'twittering' of his turbo dump valve on the overrun,  .

Compared to most of the yoof carriages there, the Evora had the ground clearance of an SUV.

I hosted an event yesterday, a track day which was dominated by french hot hatches, with the odd modified Focus and Fiesta thrown in for good measure.

A very different crowd to the ones we normally get with Lotus events but still passionate people. We had one Exige Cup 360 on the day, and it drew many admiring glances, and a very green Evora 400 turned up at lunch time to come say hi - it certainly got people talking! Lots of love for the Evora.

Only had mine a few days, but man people love this in a way no Porsche driver will ever know!

Even seen-it-all mechanics come out and take pictures/want to sit in it!

Wonderful difference from ze German wagens!
