Simon Bateman
My wife and I tend to agree that it's the DJ that's the issue and not the music, In our 50's now and still listen to Radio 1, particularly now that Grimmy is not doing the breakfast show! Greg James is quite good in the mornings and Scott Mills in the afternoon always makes me laugh. I agree that Radio 2 is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes you get chart music and the next you have something from 1950. I was in a courtesy car this week and Radio 2 with Steve Wright was on and I actually enjoyed listening to him and the music. We have DAB in our everyday car and tend to listen to Capital in the morning with Roman Kemp (Martin Kemp's son) and Vic (currently on Strictly). It''s actually quite good and the music tends to be main stream chart stuff, which we both like. If you like a bit of silly banter and the odd bit of guitar type music (typically but not always) check out Johnny Vaughan on Radio X. mik
Stopped for petrol tonight and was approached by an SL55 owner at the pump behind asking if the car was a V8? Mine has 2bular manifolds and sports cat on now (with the oem cat-back exhaust). He was really surprised to hear it was “just” a V6 - thought it sounded amazing. 😎
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted October 20, 2018 Gold FFM Report Share Posted October 20, 2018 I had 2bular headers on my NA @MIK and they are awesome. Thinkibg of adding them to my 410 Sport too 📣😁 Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way. Nelly
Took the Evora yesterday to work as our sales director took my daily for the day as his car was in for repair. Did the dentist first, and had a guy say to me "are you the Evora owner? Do you love it or love it?" (good multiple choice there). After that, went to collect a mobile phone for the MD and no sooner had I parked up then someone came over to me and said how much he loved my Evora, how he wanted one and we then had five minutes discussing the virtues of the car. It really is a feel good car on all levels.

mik
Go for it Andy. Reassuringly expensive but there is no question the car is more urgent in the upper Rev range now. Plus more bass. Plus more artillery fire on the over-run. And my insurance co wanted an extra £0. All good.
SH
I've noticed a real change in attitudes towards the Evora since I moved from the blue S to the silver 400. The S got plenty of admiring glances, but the 400 gets much more attention. It also seems to be a magnet for boy-racers wanting to play - they're wasting their time though! I've been really surprised how much the subtle redesign has influenced the roadside perception of the model.
mik
Interesting. No question the 4xx cars look more aggressive.

Gold FFM C8RKH Posted October 21, 2018 Gold FFM Report Share Posted October 21, 2018 Despite owning one jury for me is out on the front. But the back has grown on me a lot but still do not like the 3 part rear spolier. Ducktail does it for me think it makes the back look awesome. pete757
It will be interesting how we feel in 10 years about the 4xx... I personally think that the S1 will be the more 'enduring' time insensitive design... a bit like the S1 Elise that still can hold it's own 22 years after hitting the street! Both are brilliant and I love both versions :>)
DBG
Agreed. Love the back of the 400s, just can't get over the front. 430 is beautiful though.
Giveitfish
Anyone else been aggressively let out into traffic? I’ve had this 3 times now, never with any of my other cars. What I mean is not the normal being flashed out of a side road in slow traffic or when there is a big gap. No, I mean people actively slamming on and even blocking other cars so I can pull out in front of them! One of the times I sat frozen in horror as a Transit screeched to a halt on a 50mph section of A-road and flashed me out while all I could focus on was the Audi behind him locking up and nearly hitting him! Colin P
Not quite to that level, but yes I’ve had it too. Also people jumping out of the third lane even though you are only catching them at 1/2mph, I’ve had a few nearly take out the car in the middle lane doing this. Quote Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable. Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone. Nathan Pitman
I’ve had drivers pull over and physically wave me past before on dual carriage ways because I guess they want to see/hear the car. People like Lotuses.
KennyN
The Lotus has been by far the best car I've had for getting let out at junctions, or having cars change lanes to allow me to pass. I expect it's down to most people thinking what is THAT! A quick stop for fuel is rarely that quick, as it usually ends up in a conversation with someone asking about the car. The most unexpected was a woman in her sixties who was driving a Volvo, she had no idea what it was and admitted that she's not really a car person, but she was fascinated and surprised that it didn't cost silly money. She even took pictures (on a proper camera) to show her husband and grandson. I now get waved at by her and I assume her husband when we pass. Lotus should do an ad on making the world a friendlier place 😀
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted December 8, 2018 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 8, 2018 I got chased in my 410 Sport around a Tesco car park in Perth by an older lady who pulled up across the car after i had parked. She patiently waited for me to get out. Gave me a huge smile. Then just said "i just had to follow you. Your car is absolutely beautiful. I just wanted you to know". Absolutely made my day. 2 Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way. tim_marra
I stopped at a filing station just outside Carlisle a couple of weeks ago. The young(ish) lady who pulled in to fill up told me that my car was absolutely stunning, and would I mind if she took a picture of it

Gold FFM C8RKH Posted December 9, 2018 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 9, 2018 I have a wife and two cars made in Hethel. I cannot afford one, let alone three mistresses. However, to rectify this issue I do plan to stand and be elected as the MEP for my local area now that it seems clear Brexit will not be happening. 1 Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. Popular Post electro_boy
I was at a track day at Bedford Autodrome yesterday and I had many people come up and compliment me on the looks and sound of my S1 Evora. I was out on my own and worried I might get a bit bored when not on the track but I always had a friendly person or two to chat to. The odd time I even had a little crowd around the car. I was very humbled and surprised that people were giving my car some much attention especially as there were a few much fancier cars about such as 2 x 911 GT3, Cayman S in Martini livery and even a Nobel M12 and many heavily modified track cars. 😊
