Gold FFM Popular Post C8RKH 6,220 Posted September 28, 2020 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted September 28, 2020 Pulled in to Tesco's to fill up with 99ron. Staff member came out of the kiosk and she asked me if it was a Lotus! . She had a really good walk around the car. "Love the colour. Really classy and those wheels are beautiful"... We had a nice chat and thanked her for the compliments. 4 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies! Popular Post Cdm2018 144
Now its well known on this forum that my other half detests the Evora and in my 2-3 yr of ownership we have one major weekend trip and about a half dozen short trips to shops however last Sunday went to B&Q so I had to drive Evora and knew it was going to be uncomfortable journey with all the screams and moans that I was going to get as I drove too noisy and too fast (ie 50mph) on dual carriageway I was shocked to hear her pointing out as we pulled into a Aldi car park that she saw a dad with his young son in pushchair almost fall over with excitement as we drove past them. my partner actually said it was so nice to see the dad and his young son get thrill from seeing the Evora ! Small wonders 7
Popular Post Bruss 577
I'd forgotten about this thread, but this am I decided to hose down the Evora before putting it away in the barn. Mrs Bruss remarked how good the car looked and I said something about all the girls say so, it's my chick magnet etc. Two minutes later out new post girl pulled up and got out of the van with a broad smile and exclaimed it's a Lootus (French) and drooled all over it . Mrs Bruss pretended not to notice. 5
TdM 165
When I was in the Cotswolds recently, I met a chap who has one (he had bought the Volvo though) and another older chap who was a TVR man and was very interested to have a chat about it. It does get a great deal of attention everywhere you go, I have to say. The only negatives I find are you tend to get aggressive types trying to race you everywhere, which can be tiresome. I tend to pull over and let them go by, I must be getting old!
Popular Post TdM 165
I'm going to keep this thread alive... At the petrol station today chap comes out, glances, glances again... "What car is that mate?" "Lotus Evora" "Wow!"...
Gold FFM Popular Post Ali tuck 143 Posted November 22, 2020 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted November 22, 2020 Dropped my car off yesterday for some ppf work- as I parked up a chap in an alpine pulled up behind me-‘ I saw you drive past my house, thought it was a new lambo,I like that a lot!’ he’d followed me to stop and chat- how’s the alpine I asked?- load of shit it’s going back tomorrow had nothing but trouble with it 6
au-yt 482
Interesting comment from the Alpine owner, I often wondered what the post purchase owner ship is like, Let’s hope for Alpine’s sake it’s not common, I’m much more interested in owners experience than the selling magazine Jurno hype. Yesterday my wife bought some people staying in our external studio Abnb, into the house and into the garage, which I’m not happy about, these people might be OK but it’s the friends they tell that I’m not fussed about. As the Evora is not the only toy in the garage. However this person also asked about my 400 “is that a lambo?” Explaining what it is, is like many others said I’ve never heard of it, nice car was the next comment.
Popular Post Crooky23 13
Hi Folks. I'm new to the forum (any forum, come to that!). Have had a S2 Esprit for about 5 years and own other brand classics, but recently bought my Evora GT410 Sport - the only one in NZ I'm told. I have to say its an absolute hoot to drive and be in. So urgent, responsive and goes like stink! I was at a pedestrian crossing in a small town and a lady was holding the hands of her two very young daughters (twins I guess) while crossing. I'm going to say they were maybe 2 years old? Anyway they couldn't stop staring and yelling to Mum about this black 'thing' that was on the road. Mum was less pleased, hurrying them along and getting them to pay attention to where they were going, but they just would not stop - even as I drove away they were twisting to see. I know its a great shape, but I hadnt realised the impact for young and old, men and women and of all types. And the basic shape is now 10 years old! Kudos to the original design team, and those running the updates!

Apparently he bought it with 1500 miles on it and has since found out that the previous owner had also returned it because of lots of problems. So it looks like dealer has just sold it on without rectifying any of the issues! he’s replacing it with a Yaris !

Congratulations. Welcome. And I look forward to your updates on the car and some superb pictures of your car in the beautiful wilds of NZ! TdM 165
Of topic a bit but those Yaris look tasty, wouldn't mind a go in one of those see if it can have the same fun spirit as the Abarth.

Popular Post Cdm2018 144
I work from home but due to COVID I now mainly hold Zoom / MS teams conference meetings like many others now I had only just worked that I can replace the background picture from my home office to default pictures to eventually I put my Evora as my default wallpaper today had a call conference with a consultant who deals with my organisation energy and he asked me if that picture was my dream car or was it my car ! I replied Yes to both ! The consultant jaw dropped and next ten mins of the call conference was taken up by his questions asking what car is it ? What’s like to drive etc ! His questions were cut short by the chair of meeting saying we were here to discuss energy management not cars I said he can call me later
