Popular Post Redwing
I was out for a blast on Sunday, and took a slight detour along a lovely twisty B-road in order to call at one of the few local Shell garages for a squirt of V-max. I suddenly had a rear view mirror full (limited admittedly) of black bonnet and could see his right hand indicator flashing. How very dare he! And indeed he didn't. When I pulled up at the garage, he pulled up at the other side of the pump and I noted that it was a Yaris GR from the badge on his wing. A very polite young man then stuck his head around the pump, and said that he hoped I didn't mind what had just happened, but he and his dad used to share an S1 and he had given it everything and couldn't believe he couldn't get past. I told him that I hadn't even troubled the "change up" LEDs. He looked at me blankly, and I realised he must have thought I was in an Elise. Anyway, it gets better. Pulled up at an adjacent pump was a red Ferrari F8 Tributo (£250k?). When I went in to pay, the dude behind the counter asked me if I was in the Corvette. I said no, it's a Lotus. He then asked, if I could, would I swap my Lotus for the Ferrari? I gave it some thought, and replied that if the guy with the Ferrari wanted to do a straight swap right here, right now, I'd take it. Otherwise, it wouldn't happen. 3
Cdm2018
Just back from a small former miners town of Swadlincote where they held a festival of transport parked my car and walked around the 100 odd cars motorbikes and camper van etc met a lovely guy in only other lotus an Europa who allowed me to sit in his car. I just bought some deep heat gel I needed it after sitting in Europa lol I was interested to see how many people kept having to look at the rear of car to identify the car ! Shows how rare and unknown the Evora really is 😮
Popular Post au-yt
I have taken my Ferrari owning neighbour out in my 400 and he was surprised at the ride quality. Today I spent the morning in his brand new F8 Tributo I agree with his comment even when the F8 is in soft mode Yes the interior is very nice, leather seats are too hard unless they are fully tweaked and then there OK its almost to spacious inside Yes the grunt is nice when the turbos kick in and it goes, but it tram tracks under braking "what the", at 3 times the price of a new EMIRA. I prefer the way the Evora feels to be in and rides and goes.. Sorry Ferrari its a very nice trophy car
Gold FFM Popular Post C8RKH Posted May 26 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted May 26 @au-yt love your post. To me, Lotus is for the drivers who actually drive their sports cars. Not the fastest. Not the the flashiest. Not the most expensive. Not boring! Too many supercars these days are polished and only driven to an "event" to be shown off, then put back under cover and in the heated garage. Such a shame 3 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. au-yt
As a Followup to my last post,I would say the F8 ride quality in "soft" isn't as good as the Evora, and I must say at "speed" the Evora is more stable I was surprised when he commented the car front tends to float, Cold Tires may be... just making excuses. Gold FFM Popular Post DaveC72 Posted June 13 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted June 13 Just back from a weekend in Axminster. Met up with an oppo in his AM Vantage and we "pootled" around South East Devon with me taking the lead in the Evora. His summary of the weekend was that the Evora was bloody noisy and got all the turned heads, pointing, waves and smiles - much to his annoyance. 8
Popular Post Rambo
A double wammy for me. Last Sunday I got a "noisiest car in Kelsae pal. But, boy, does it sound good" comment from a punter in the square And, several hours later on the way home from Mellerstain house a couple of mid 20's females lifted up their short skirts and flashed their knickers. Result 😉 3 1

Gold FFM Popular Post windymiller Posted June 15 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted June 15 picked up my lad from school in the evora yesterday and i think he almost let out a smile when he saw the car (or may of been wind) as we drove away a young lad looked at the car and shouted "legend" 😁
Popular Post Phaeton91
On my way out of a multi-storey and a group of youngish girls were getting in/out of a car. One of them made a quip as I was driving past them at 5ish mph, saying something like “ooh sports car”. Dipped the clutch and let out a double thunderclap. At least 2 or them jumped - all of them shrieked! Same thing happened with a group of young lads a few weeks earlier - their response “your car is sik man”. When I read you can have fun at any speed in a Lotus, I didn’t think that was meant so literally! 2

Popular Post Geoffers
Returning from Le Mans Classic last week, I got off the ferry at Portsmouth & queued up to go through customs. When I got to the customs booth I was a bit shocked when the customs officer said "I'm sorry sir but I am going to have to impound your car". I looked at him a bit inquisitively before a smile broke out on his face & he said "Its only because I want to have a drive in it, lovely car sir". 3
Greyvora
I stayed in a hotel on Saturday night before going to the car show at Glamis Castle yesterday (cracking day out and nice to meet C8RKH). Just before we had our evening meal, the owner came in to the bar asking who owned the Ferrari as she thought it would be better/safer parked right at the front of the hotel. Save yourself a shedload of cash and buy an Evora instead of a Fezza. I'm sure most people don't know what my car is unless they are close enough to see the badges. One thing I have noticed from time to time is the pronounced "pretend not to look" from some drivers of other high performance marques. You can see them clock the car from a distance but then adopt a fixed stare ahead as they go past you. Mainly M3 drivers 😉 Still not had any negative comments when out and about. 2 Quote Sparks

I experienced something similar on my maiden trip in my Evora, when I picked it up in the UK with my elder son. On the way to the ferry in Dover I was moved out of the queue and instructed to get the car into a warehouse where a strict looking female officer was waiting for me. I was then invited to open the boot for the car to be inspected, my son gently popping up and smiling from the rear seat, much to the surprise of the efficient officer. I was allowed to leave, greeted with a smile, and a phrase that sounded like "that is a beautiful car, sir. Enjoy."

Popular Post hyperviper
Posted here in case other don't do too much social meedya..! Sitting in the car in a supermarket car park, waiting for my better half to get some flowers for a friend (in Norwich, UK) Little red car pulls alongside and I can hear the chap flipping out.. "Look at that...It's a lotus... Yeah, they're made just up the road, I've never been this close to one before.. Shit that's nice... (Walks round the back) Bloody lovely eh?", (His wife nods) (Walks away and turns back to look at the front) "Faaaark me that's lovely"... ...Wife: "are you going to fiddle with yourself now!!!" Dunno if he could hear me laughing inside... On the way home - stopped off for a takeaway and a group of kids were yelling - "Nice Lambo mate"... Er, thanks.. - I think... (Well, it begins with "L" - close enough for some) Edited July 18 by hyperviper 1
Cdm2018
Odd reaction to be honest not what I really wanted ? went to a Peak District hotel as it’s venue for my stepson upcoming wedding a lovely place had a meal with in-laws to be and parked my Evora at front next to disabled spot as it usual to have a wider bays ! A guy with his family parked in disabled spot in his new Mercedes’ coupe (now I don’t he was disabled and no blue badge) all during evening he and his mate who came later was around their cars talking about engines as my little party sat outside enjoying a couple of drinks when I left took my wife to her car to travel to work & I went back home , these guys all stood next to their cars and watch me start off. I deliberately did a gentle start as not to disturb the wedding already underway as they had doors and windows open anyway the guy in the Merc caught me joining onto M1 he must have passed me during close to 100+ as I was doing just over 70 when on the 2nd fast Lane ! Knob I think he must have hurried his kids and wife into the car to catch up Why ????

Popular Post au-yt
As a kid in the mid seventies working in a Petrol station in the central west a Lotus Europa drove in for fuel, I was hooked. Its great now driving through those country towns and and people watching the Evora drive past. The reactions from crinked necks to waves and the road side workers, tap his mate to look at the car, gives me a big smile.
