Basically you can't be picky... so long as it has the gearbox and engine you want... you can't go far wrong. If the colours not right you can always wrap it. My experience has been that I ended up with a car in a colour I would never have chosen... but now I love it.

Yes definitely a keeper, I imagine it went through the production line with a lot of close attention to detail as well and maybe even some extra coats of paint lacquer for that showroom shine!

I don't think @Bruss's car has much left on it that was "standard", it is much th fastest S on the planet I think and I am pretty sure that paint job is not the one it left the factory with. However, he will be along soon to either prove me right or wrong...

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

First one off the production line and then handed to Lotus Engineering for special preparation for the Paris motor show. Fitted with all options at the time - a custom alcantara and leather interior, sport and tech pack plus reversing camera (that I didn't know about, DOH) and the imprint module for the Alpine sound system.

It then went to the USA for the launch there at the Los Angeles and New York auto shows. Stayed in the USA for a while and then back to Hethel for demo work around the country.  Finally registered on the road in June 2013 and sold to me at the end of 2014 with just 1900kms on it.  It has since been further modified by Lotus Motorsport with an upgraded development engine giving around 400-410 bhp plus all of the various factory recalls and upgrades.  Other work I have done is to replace the suspension with Hofmanns Nitrons, upgrade the sound system and recover the seats and door cards with my own design, and of course the repaint in Grigio Scura.  So not quite original any more. Still nice to have a history though.

What colour was it originally @Bruss , and roughly how much was the respray out of curiosity ?

It was ( and the roof still is) b93 Starlight Black.

Cost of respray was hidden in some other work I had done, but I'd estimate 4K.
