I hope I’ve made the right choice... Evora 400 manual in metallic blue.

The Porsche was lovely... the Lotus... exciting.

Thanks to James M. And his Lotus diaries for helping me with the choice.

The Lotus Turbo Esprit always was my favourite car in Accolade’s Test Drive on my Amiga 500

You absolutely did the right thing! Welcome! The Porkers look great but don't tend to inspire the passion that we get from driving a Lotus!

Welcome! I went from an S1 Elise to a Cayman S (great car but totally uninteresting to drive after the elise), back to another elise and now onto my dream car of an 84 Giugiaro Esprit Turbo! Once you've been bitten by the lotus bug theres no going back!

You've definitely done the right thing!

After decades of multiple finest German sports cars/saloons/estates, my Evora makes me smile in a way none of the uber-machines ever did.

Congratulations, you won't regret it!  Look forward to seeing pictures - which blue is it?  Mine's Laser Blue.

Watch out!  He's infectious and the illness is chronic.

You've plenty of company.  You did what we all did.....passed up the Porsche to buy a truly wonderful car.  As another Lotus newbie I can assure you any second thoughts will be quickly abandoned to become visible only through a tiny slit in the rear view mirror.  Congratulations on making a bold choice that for many of us is also the right one.

Its metallic blue. I love the laser blue... didn't appear to be an option on the 400. I have been contemplating wrapping it in 3M satin perfect blue which is very similar colour.  But I'm also contemplating gloss plum explosion.

I intend to drive the car as my primary daily driver... I'm a bit paranoid about keying, etc, so am contemplating Paint Protection film overlaid with color change wrap.

I had the front of my 370z wrapped in PPF, quite pricey, but I have now got 3 or 4 stone chips that would be horrid if they hit the paint. The ppf took the hit, and the paint under is un marked. Worth it considering it's pearl white ( 3 layer paint, so hard to match )
The cost for a full car PPF and a colour change would be mental - Circa £4000 for the PPF, then another £2500 for the colour change... that's more than a full respray done properly by Lotus surely?  (I can't speak for your prices but thats what is is here)

Either way, glad you left the Porker behind and went with an actual enthusiasts car that isn't the standard boring choice! Enjoy it....

BUT WHERE ARE THE PICTURES?!?!?

Hi Mark and welcome from another Aussie 400 owner. and yes you made right decision.

Ive owned all sorts of exotics and for the 400 bets them hands down as a super car with the super engine transmission maintenance costs

The 918 GTS may be a competitor in price but for me that's it its too main stream, sadly Lotus arnt selling the 400 at the rate they would like buts that to me means they are rarer and much better looking.

The 400's ability to cover country roads is amazing and has been commented many time by journalists compared to the rest of the hero exotics. If you get the impression I love mine it would be an understatement.
