Royal 34
That for me, was the best all-round Lotus meet I've been to! Weather was perfect too. I was able to chat briefly to Bob Dance, and he said the purest F1 race car in the line of beauties (for him) was the 32B. No extras, no wings etc. Nice to see you again Bibs, and your efforts as always, are appreciated.
Gold FFM Colin P 646 Posted September 29, 2018 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 29, 2018 Thanks Bibs and all at Lotus. An excellent day and obviously a lot of effort (and expense!) went into this. Fantastic! 2 Quote A Lotus is for driving, pork is for breakfast.

Popular Post Steve1 62
As the others said thanks for a fantastic day Bibs and all the others involved to make it such memorable day. Right from start to finish... Also because arrived early me and my misses decide to film and take pics of the cars coming in on the track, some of might have notice. When she gets time she will go through them and put on her website and put up a link. Have to say what I've seen there are pretty good. Quote of the day though... go out onto the track on that big long straight(and tight right hander if you were early enough)and keep to 15mph...... 2

Dave Hi Dave, I was sorry to see you on the side of the road. If I'm honest I was pleased you had just broken down....the boys in blue made me fear some off roading had occured - especially given the large Silverstone tribe had left Newmarket minutes before. Hope all is well. Bibs, you are a star....thank you for the invite and I also appriciate all the effort you and your team put in. Well worth 8 hours in the car today (well it is a lotus so worth it anyhow). Also, thanks for showing me how the alarm works. Im actually deaf in one ear at the moment and was subconsciously laughing at someone's car alarm going off - didn't actually realise it was mine while I was sat in it. All together now....you plonka David! Apologies I was last on the stand so couldn't get to say hi to everyone but love this forum. Travel safe everyone!

Thorburn 1
Didn't make it along today, but watched some of the live stream and looked like an excellent event. Know we've had our differences in the past Bibs, but hopefully all water under the bridge these days, and congratulations to yourself and Lotus for the work in putting it all together, and thanks for sending through the the SELOC tickets. Buddsy 1,625
It really was a great day out. I think the big screens link to live feed with @Guy Munday interveiwing people and pressenting what was going on on track worked so well and helped make the day a great sucsess. Im not really into the cycles I have to say but enjoyed them on the track. Classic team was the highlight for me for the sound alone! That said the Sunbeams were very close and more epic than I would have beleived. The lap record I have to say made me very nervous...old cars dont like slow moving traffic and my brakes are not as sharp as the Exige I was following so I have to admit I did duck out after 2 laps. Well done @Bibs was an event to remeber. Geely looked to have spend a pretty penny on the do. All good signs for the future. Lastly big thanks tomother nature who really pulled a glorious day out of the bag for late september. buddsy 2 Quote "Belief is the enemy of knowing" - Crrow777

Popular Post Kimbers 1,794
Wowsa. I said to many of you that I could easily have spent the whole day just on the track. All of the (our) cars were amazing. And OMG what a noise some of them make. Walking the full length of the track I was thinking "I need to sell my kids and build a large air con'ed barn for all those cars I want to buy!! Bibbo, you never ever disappoint. have a great night tonight and have one for me. To everyone I saw it was awesome to see you all, I never feel more at home than when I am with you all and I have so many friends from Denmark to Germany, Belgium to Netherlands and all over the UK! Big Love!! My favourite moment.....well 2 actually. I was watching MJK on the big screen being interviewed and there was a guy standing there watching the screen avidly. He looked at me and said "I worked with him in India when he was working for Tata". I said "Thats my dad and I'm sure he would love to see you again". he said "He won't remember me"......."I bet he would" I said. So we walked over to MJK and just before we got there a totally different guy with a walking stick and 2 sons helping him walked over. My dads face lit up and he called him by name (can't remember now....Mike maybe). Dad gave him a big hug and the guy burst into tears. He said "You don't know how much this means to me!" and there was a long conversation and much hugging. the guy had had a stroke and just wanted to talk to his old mate again. He choked up again when they parted. It was amazing to see what dad meant to someone. So my man from Tata steps up and I say to dad, someone wants to say hi. Dad looked puzzled and the guy said "You probably don't remember me, it was 17 years ago....." and my dad said "In Pune, you were working in the office when I came in and I can still see your face and you saying "What are you doing here". The guy was amazed. I know he's my dad but for someone to have touched so many people and still remember a guy working in an Office at Tata who he met briefly for 3 days of coming and going is amazing and humbling. 14 4 1 Quote Possibly save your life.
