A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH BEARING

Recommended Posts

Can anyone offer advice as my 99 V8 Esprit A/C Compressor bearing is very noisy. Can you just replace clutch bearing without removing the engine ? if so where is the best place to buy the part ?

Many thanks

Wayne

Wayne,

I replaced the compressor on my 2002. The part number is CS0052 from Rock auto at 179 bucks. New not rebuilt. Not worth screwing around with. By the way I replaced the compressor without lifting or touching the engine. Takes patience but can be done.

AC- compressors are so much cheaper In the States than In Europe.

When I replaced mine, the prize of 150 dollars In US changed to 300 euros In here.

The key is a crows foot with creative swivels and extension to get that one bolt off for the compressor. The rest is easy without lifting the engine.
