Nicely done and congrats to your son on his new car

Did he do his degree in at Coventry? Who does he work for now in the USA?

My Dad used to drive a Cortina and a Suzuki Baleno, you're a much cooler Dad!

To be fair, my first Lotus in 1968 was a Cortina. 😉

He did his degree at Loughborough and after graduating, went to work for Xtrac in Thatcham, including a spell with their office in Indianapolis, which is what prompted his desire to work in the USA full time. He now works in Farmington Hills, Michigan, for a British owned company called Drive Systems Design.

Coincidentally, whilst at Xtrac he was responsible for some of the design on the gearbox that ended up as an option on the Lotus 311, although it was originally designed primarily for the WTC championship. He said Lotus were always on a stop, so supply was somewhat patchy to say the least. 😂

His Evora is coming from a Lotus dealer in Birmingham, Michigan I believe and to think, it's taken me until now to get my first Evora! 😄 He's a lucky lad to be starting off with one for his first Lotus.

Great to hear, you must be proud.

I’ve brainwashed my Son too, he lives and breaths the Lotus Esprit; posters, model cars and it’s all he seems to talk about.  I hope he follows in your Son’s footsteps one day.
