Another NA car just come up and looks a Corker to be fair. If only it was not black (I can’t have another black car I need a change) I would be on my way to this one. It’s on eBay for sale at a lotus specialist.

I saw this up for sale last year too

i can only assume the owner isn’t on here

would love to read the magazine article about it

Odd that the Lotus Carlton buyer’s guide in Absolute Lotus states that the market hasn’t woken up to them yet and that lesser contemporaries from other marques are worth more. The value of the LC has been on a steep upward trajectory for a few years now. The very best are into six figures. That’s significantly more than an M5 or E500. The only saloon of the era worth more is the 190E Evo 2, but they were never cheap.

Yes I agree, over the years have seen a few, but have no longing to get one. Would more likely  a jeep grand Cherokee srt/trackhawk.

Lotus Carlton is pretty rare. 950 made I think. It was the pinnacle of fast saloons when launched. Although not my thing, I suspect it is exhilarating to drive. I surmise it appeals to 'autobahn-stormers' and those who have no other interest in Lotus.

I lifted the bonnet of one in auction - I think that lid alone weighs more than my S1 Elise. It seems to me it is an oddity in Lotus history, where power is used to overcome bulk.

Still respect it hugely but I doubt it is a point and shoot kinda car, which every Lotus I have driven have been.

Haha, that’s pretty accurate. I remember popping the bonnet on mine to attach the battery conditioner. To save a few seconds I decided to rest the bonnet on my shoulder, rather than the stay. Thank goodness I didn’t drop it, but I did have a red line across my shoulder for a few days after. I always used the stay from then on.

Interesting... just noticed that Lotus Siverstone have just increased the price of its two NA's for sale by £2k!? Are they expecting Evora's prices to rise now they are coming to the end of production?

Maybe it’s just because there are so few on the market atm.

May be they are planning a sale in the spring - so they can reduce the price.

Lotus Silverstone have one NA manual at £30K on Pistonheads. £32K on their website. The other S1 is an IPS, white and they have had in stock for an age. £30K on Pistonheads, £32K on Lotus Silverstone website.

Used Lotus Evora V6 4 Ips for sale | PistonHeads UK

A bit odd to have different prices on PHeads to their own site.

Sometimes a price rise can work. I could not sell my 928 auto some years ago at £15K. I stopped listing it and re-marketed at £19,928 about 3 months later. I got more enquiries and sold it for.......£15K.

It is wise to remove the listing for a few months though........

See this a lot on run of the mill cars. I questioned it with a dealer once and his comment was that those who just turn up tend to have unrealistic trade in expectations, so they keep the forecourt prices a bit higher so they have more wiggle room on the trade in prices.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Went today to looked and was in generally ok condition. Certainly not what I would call immaculate and a few issues that need sorting but oh my god never ever seen tyres that bald on a road car ever!

I asked if if needed tyres before I went and was told would need them shortly. So I was expecting 2.5mm and took the digital depth gauge.

I needn’t had bothered there was no tread at all on the backs and I mean no tread.

The inner 1/3 had 0.4mm tread and the  middle and outside none at all. Couldn’t see but could feel the canvass ribs so nearly negative tread 😂

Was astounded as he said had done 1k miles and driven the kids to school etc. I think they may be original as dated in mid 2018 and car done 15.5k miles. So I think they have done well for rears if original.

All modern tyres have wear indicators. These lovely wee bumps are at the minimum legal limit. So easy to check.

Yep I know that’s, seems he didn’t and they were long gone!!!!

Not sure about the GT410, but they did a lot of changes to the 400 series, such that you can get 40k plus out of a set. Mind has 23k on it and 5mm of tread on the rears. Having seen the Football advert it would make me question how the car has been used.

Yeah I think it was not babied once past run in when in lotus ownership. But mid 2018 ties up with original tyres. I certainly would want a few £k slack for a clutch just in case.

Been in private hands since 2019.

40k that’s impossible off cup2s? My Exige cups 2 rears were shot in 5k miles of road only use. Similar on my GT4.

I think they start with the same 5.5mm of tread only. But I know cup 2s can be between 4.5mm and 6.5mm depending of application. Even if rolling everywhere at 30mph that’s a stretch as the cup2s are very soft compound.
