Might be one to DYOR on, esp given cat N status.

mcdonaa
Yup...looks awful. There is a video on YouTube showing pre repair damage...and that side was good colour match wise. There was some lower clam damage too. https://youtu.be/dxHZOoMbp5c Edited January 27 by Bravo73 Embedded link
Benny90210
I think it may just be shadow on the door making the colour look off, also the damage on the before damage video looks quite light. But probably worth any buyer doing reasearch on TVR glen....

Gold FFM TdM Posted January 28 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 28 Damage looks like next to nothing. Surprised they even wrote that off. The seller is more the concern as others have said.
Gold FFM EuropaSman Posted January 30 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 30 DK60CSF that was the Cat N for up sale at TVRGlen's been sold. The owner has posted on the Evora Owners Group on Facebook today (30/01/2023) and the ad has been removed from Car And Classic. jerzybondov
Decent indicator for the bottom of the market if £23k and CAT N shifts that quickly.
Edmundo2
Hi All.. Just wondered what the consensus is on higher miles 400 values? I appreciate that depends on condition etc but having been looking for an S I've realised I'd probably want to make it louder and might potentially want a bit more poke in the future so I'm probably best trying to stretch for a 400 now rather than start with an SR and ultimately end up spending money tweaking it.. Having seen a couple of cars at £45k t dealers I was hoping this might be considered the lower end of the market and that such cars are few and far between just because there's not many out there that could be considered high miles.. Is this the case or were those cars very much the exception for some reason..? Obvs I don't want to be living in la la land and waiting for ever if its just unrealistic, ( in which case I'll have to go for an S now or wait another year to acrew a bit more cash ..) Thanks for any thoughts..
Gold FFM Cdm2018 Posted February 1 Gold FFM Report Share Posted February 1 Ed you find yourself in a situation where you dammed if sit and wait and dammed if you stick your neck out to buy now ? I guess you really need to consider what your financial position is now and in future will interest rates rise or borrowing conditions get harder I wonder if 400 represents a long term better buy ? I wonder if any Emira swaps have near peaked and number of Evoras appearing on market is dwindles down to lower 10’s ? I would consider that you better to maximise your financial outlay and get best car you can find maybe sacrificing colour choices or interior finishes due to limited choices ! Edmundo2
Yes...A tricky time..I'm sure many owners can relate to that situation where the one you want is just a bit more than the budget you've got....Always the way whether its cars or houses.. I really liked the SR I drove but the bit extra a 400 offers appeals to me and seems worth stretching for now.. TBH I've never really done finance and would generally only spend what I've got but I figure it makes sense if I've got £40k cash to put in then borrowing a small chunk more to get into a 400 is worth it.. The question is whether a "small chunk" more is realistic..? Obvs now isn't the best time to be borrowing and I can't afford to buy a lemon with my lifes savings or take a massive bath on something that bombs in value but I think a 400s power/weight/chassis/noise would be my ideal so if I can get into one with a modest amount of borrowing I'd be a happy boy even if values were to soften a bit thereafter..We're only here for a short time after all! Just need something to come along that isn't quite as new/low miles as what's on the market currently..As you say I'll need to be open minded on spec I guess..,( not easy but will try ).. I could wait another year and save but a summer without a toy would be pretty dull, ( I was in a Caterham previously ), and there's always the chance that prices could for some reason strengthen over that time in which case I'd rue the day I didn't take the plunge ... We shall see..
Bibs
Personally, I think most Evora's over 3 years old have done the majority of their depreciation. They aren't making them any more so prices should solidify further. IMO it would be worth popping another £5-10k on your budget and with 400 prices have sat pretty much static for a couple of years now at least, there's very little chance of baths being taken. If anything, it might even be better than money in the bank nowadays! 1 hour ago, Cdm2018 said: I wonder if any Emira swaps have near peaked Lol Clive, the number of Emira's delivered to date is tiny compared to the order bank, we're a long way off that particular peak! 1 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Gold FFM Barrykearley Posted February 1 Gold FFM Report Share Posted February 1 If I had that budget - I’d be all over every single 400 listed chancing my arm. Edmundo2
Indeed. I do agree that you sometimes need to seek out a car if the market is niche but I don't want to make a nuisance of myself buy putting silly low ball offers to people who's cars are fairly priced... That in itself is subjective and in general most of the 400s on the marlet currently seem to be low miles at dealerships for £50k + but have been sitting around for some time.. I'm hoping that means a mid/higher miler "priced to sell" might be realistic if can wait and move quickly? Not sure what trade in value an owner of say a 30k+ miles car might be offered when chopping in? For now I've just put a few wanted ads out there in the hope somebody with a slightly higher miler might be considering selling.. Not in a mad rush and waiting until April would suit me so will keep watching on..
