Bruss
The first LE?
LotusLeftLotusRight
Hmm, this is a September 2009 registered “59” car. I am sure I have seen “09” cars, which would have been registered before the end of August. Quite a few LEs were registered in September as “59” plates. I guess only the chassis number can confirm it’s claim.
Gold FFM Popular Post EuropaSman Posted February 4 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted February 4 AU59ACY, VIN ending 0868 is 27th UK Launch Edition, 74th Evora (all variants worldwide for MY09) and the first customer ordered & delivered car, so it's not the first production Evora. @mcdonaa has the second customer delivered car and I own the 75th production Evora that is the second customer ordered car by VIN (ending 0869). There were 26 UK cars prior to AU59ACY comprised of 8 press cars, 17 dealer demonstrators and one car ordered by a dealer for stock. The earliest UK cars on the Launch Editions register are AU09AKK (the car Clarkson reviewed on Top Gear) and AU09AKZ, both registered on 01 April 2009. Hope that clears things up. 4 1 Quote Lover of everything Lotus Cars and proud owner of production Evora No.75 (2nd UK customer specced car by VIN). jep
Lovely looking car but value probably sub-£30k in the current market. Claim to be first car off the production line is wrong, 1st UK customer car correct but I don't think that adds much value, if any. I suspect even the 1st UK delivered Esprit from 1976 may not have a huge premium today over a later S1 Esprit. Esprit somewhat more iconic than Evora (obvs due to classic status and dramatic styling). Justin

Jonathan Ashcroft
It is low mileage so that I imagine would keep it over 30k, only other one with the gold pin stripe at that low mileage is £35k which seems pretty optimistic and I'm guessing they're just waiting for someone who loves it to come along. Interestingly I bought mine in September 2015 with 32k miles for pretty much simialt money so they really have not depreciated at all over that time which is impressive. Don't get me wrong I nearly bought an R33 gtr and I've have made about £80k on that so I'm not saying I made the best business decision. 😉

No rush at all, just felt that perhaps Emira delays and therfore harder Evora values at the top end was strengthening the lower end too and I might regret not listing now. I wouldn't be able to own an early evora without the exhaust being done and mine is valved so you can go incognito but understand you don't get your money back. I know if I'd test driven mine and one with Lowe mileage and no exhaust it would be no contest. Spring is the typical time, but with the Lotus Market being affected by the new model I wondered if it was better to list now. Pictures for reference. Dash isn't perfect but by no means in the territory of some. You can always pick holes in the Evora unless someone has gone through it like the one document here a couple of years ago and basically made it better than factory. Genuinely one of the most reliable cars I've owned and easily the best driving. Obviously market was probably stronger last year but I don't regret the drives I had last year instead of selling. Thats a good one! Kove the interior exterior combo. I think you should put it on for low 20's.... 😉

I strongly recommend trying the seats before you get too set on it. Each to their own but my back, which has an old injury at the base, wouldn't put up with the seat shape at all. 20 minutes in one and I could barely walk. I liked the car so much I investigated what other seats I could fit but options are limited as the space is very narrow.
Edmundo2
Yes it's a good point.. I know Jay emm fitted Cobra Nogaros which I had in my Cayman and quite like.. I guess I need to try one and hope I find the seats OK.. Obviously it's horses for courses and in Cayman circles it seems there's a real split in opinion between the sports seat and the carbon bucket..The latter looks great and holds better but quite a lot of people struggle with them, ( whilst others love em..). I liked the seats in the SR buy not tried the sparco.. Trouble is with seats that a 10 minute test is not quite enough but hopefully I'll be OK.. Phaeton91
I drove to Germany and back in my 400 - took a few stops on the way, but it’s around 9 hours sitting down, each way. Of course it’s not like doing it in a motorway muncher but it wasn’t unbearable for me or my passenger either(he actually preferred it to my mate’s Audi R8 who I did the trip with). I think I preferred the Recaro CS sportsters in my Megane but the difference is not great. Besides, you can get used to it (injuries excluded) as anyone who has ridden any distance on a bicycle more than once will attest. I suppose the one thing that can get wearing is the heavy clutch in traffic, and the angle at which you’re pushing it down. There’s no gravity to help and so the leg thrust seemingly comes straight through from the bottom left of the back - particularly 1st to second where you have to feed the clutch out more slowly. That could be confused tor an uncomfortable seat I guess, as the pressure is in the same place.
