Never one to disappoint, here's my chip!

+2, pah, that's for old geezers with their Jaguars. Even the Merc SL doesna' offer a +2 now and that's for old women with big handbags...

Funny though, when extensively searching for a DB9, I noticed that in general when the cars came up in Northern Ireland they were lowish mileage, good condition, and generally 10-15% cheaper than mainland UK cars, even from the main dealer there. I wondered whether they we buying them in Eire cheaper and driving them over the border as an "import". However you look at it, that's a great car for the money and in a good colour too. The ivory leather interior and it would be uber graceful.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

They're more likely to do the reverse to be honest, but the Government in Eire has recently (2 years ago?)  closed that loophole.  Car purchase tax (or might be registration fee, I can't remember) is exorbitant in Eire.

I think @PaulCP went to see the one at Strattons. Its very near him. I can't remember the report though.

I only planned to take a look at it had you been interested in it during your search. When you told me that you didn't like "Lipstick Red" I didn't bother.

However, if I make it to Stratton's 311 launch event this weekend I'll take a look

So the +2 is for old geezers with Jaguars or old women with big handbags? I'm not aware that I fit into either of those categories!

The medical world has the technology these days to make the latter a possibility if you so desire, but only if you have a Merc SL!  Just a long running joke with me and a few of the +2 lads.

I personally don't really care who has what, just as long as they enjoy their Evora as they truly are just wonderful cars... ;)

i've never felt inclined to even research that, but i'll take your word for it! I dont have a Merc SL, only Merc 300E, do I still qualify?

i agree with your second point. They are all wonderful cars.

This one is quoted in the details part of the listing as being an S. It's not, it's an IPS NA - I can tell by the rear diffuser. They also haven't spotted that there is a knob missing (it's not a manual as they state). Think this dealer should stick to smokiewagens.

What's the going rate for an 11 plate 48k miles IPS NA?

I agree, totally silly and far to cheap for an exclusive, ultra rare, 2+0.

Not worrying. I'm hopeful they'll be down to £45k in 18 months. Can't see it, but would then buy one.

Not coming down that quickly Stu really. You can negotiate anything up to about £10k off any high level new beamer right now without any real effort, and that's brand new NOT pre-registered. What your seeing is the first cars, now some 6 months plus old being churned by the dealers for £65k. It's interesting that actually quite a few people are bypassing these and going straight for a dealer order, specc'ed to the colour they want etc.  That to me is the really interesting point as it shows people view the car as being worth circa £75k.  I also think we'll see more people do this given the great finance deals right now too. So taken in the round, I think 400 prices are holding up well and will not collapse.

With regards to the old shape cars, or Series 1, as I like to call them, well, prices are not exactly plummeting there either for good cars with low mileage, good spec and good history are they?  Indeed, we seem to have a few people joining the forum with "looking for an evora" type posts, so I think we're looking good right now to be honest. The Evora is a rare thing - a combination of a fantastic driving experience, good build quality, a great image AND, the crux, a very short supply of good cars.

Let's not wish things down too far eh! ;) But a 3 year old 400, at £45k will be my entry point - so similar to S1 Evora S at that age, no?
