Handbook signed by bonnie Prince Charles (I hope his Dad never drove it). It was auctioned in 1995 by The Sun, with proceeds to The Prince's Trust. It is a bit too clean for me, I like to use my cars. I will probably end up selling it but no rush, I am very happy to own it. I forgot how much I loved driving M100, so I am looking for a higher mileage example that I can rag. Justin

Popular Post Gm77
For all those thinking about a 400, there’s a lovely grey one for sale at Lotus Silverstone😉. It’s being sold for a good cause too - to fund my Elan +2 purchase...! The 400 was just too reliable with no opportunities to get my spanner’s out! 😂 Greg

I went to Silverstone a week or so ago to look at what they had.

It’s the nicest one I have seen so far, but I’m very boring when it comes to interiors and all that red is too much for me! Good luck with the sale! Best of luck with your search. It was a conversation that I had with Scott Walker at the factory when we were specifying our car that led to choosing the red interior. As we had preordered we were given the opportunity to see the first batch on the production line and that combination stood out for me and my wife - Charlotte liked the way it matched the red callipers! You can’t really go wrong though with the Evora, whatever you choose. I’m still pretty chuffed that it’s the longest privately owned 400 in the world (I don’t have many claims to fame you see!)! CharlieGee
Cheers. I actually saw that one when it came up but - and I should have said above - I'm after a +2. Kid on the way and the 'two seat Lotus' brief is already fulfilled by an S2 111S.
jamesbilluk
Hi all, I'm looking to purchase a N/A Evora at some point, I have a BMW i8 at the moment, which I love, but I'm concerned about the reliability of the power train in the future, so would love one of these as a daily to replace the i8, and to enjoy the sound! We have a 1 year old girl, so hopefully can get a child seat in the back. I've noticed this one in the classifieds https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-Lotus-Evora-3-5-VVT-i-V6-2-2-Coupe-2dr-Coupe-Petrol-Manual-/402552396529?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 Would this milage put people off? I notice its had a new clutch recently. James
Gold FFM Barrykearley Posted December 13, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 13, 2020 Wouldn’t bother me at all - these engines are well proven units in the toyota applications. Grab one and enjoy Quote Only here once
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted December 13, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 13, 2020 Would not bother me either to be honest. Interesting that you want the "noise" and your concerned re the drive train of the BMW. All that lovely noise goes when we go full BEV. I would not be too bothered by the mileage of the Evora. The engines are bullet proof. Clutch is the potential weak spot but you can get it done for £2k. So not stupid if you know it in advance. These are rock solid cars. The airbag cover needs fixing, not a huge job but time consuming so expensive if the dealer does it. Looks like a cracking car. I had an Ardent Red 2010 NA and still love that car even though I now have a 410 Sport. Good luck. Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.
jamesbilluk
Thanks both Great to know. The i8 is one of the best cars I've owned, but there are times I miss a good engine sound, its going well now, but it does seem worryingly complex! Back in 2018 I had an Ardent Red Evora S, which I always regretted selling. I shouldn't be putting too many miles on it (we have an Astra for main duties at the moment) I may drop them an email tomorrow.
Gold FFM Cdm2018 Posted December 14, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 14, 2020 I have Ardent red Evora so maybe biased ? Looked at this car don’t know the seller but I did like they made a comprehensive attempt at the advert 65 pictures , decent service history etc so although high mileage it looks like a car that’s being well maintained ? Only way to make sure is to test and inspect the car , they giving 3 month warranty which could be negotiated to 6 months as part of deal ? Added piece of mind ? it didn’t have sport button but I don’t on mine and as I am not big speed freak it suits me ?
jamesbilluk
Thank you It does seem nicely maintained, and service history looks good. I had a look at a car history checker, it showed a previous advert for the car, the private seller looked very encouraging, ex lotus management car apparently before him, and he's has done 45k motorway miles in it, which explains the milage, I did wonder about the sport button, but in a previous advert it seems to be listed with the sport pack, and has the sport button in one of the photos. jamesbilluk
Hi all, Sorry, me again! Does anyone know this car? Don't think I've ever seen Persian Blue. I really like the interior too https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202011045795810?advertising-location=at_cars&is-quick-search=TRUE&postcode=WR80EA&model=EVORA&page=1&make=LOTUS&include-delivery-option=on&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&advertClassification=standard
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted December 14, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 14, 2020 Lovely looking car and Persian blue and Oyster interior is really classy in the flesh. Needs silver wheels rather than those black ones though in my humble opinion! 1 Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way. LotusLeftLotusRight
The red one has cross-drilled front brake disks as per Sport pack, so they’re similar in that regard. Strangely the passenger side rear seat looks very worn. That must be a world first for an Evora! From the photos, the blue one looks in nicer condition and has significantly lower mileage, so would be my choice. View and test drive them both. Good luck. AU10BHN researched before... I thought I recognised the number.
