***** In 1993 when I was 50 years old I bought my 1st sports car, a 1990 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE with 15.000 mls on the odo...... I immediately did fell in love with this Lotus and the love remain

Just thought I’d pop in with a quick update now my evora has finally been delivered! It was the GT410sport in military grey previously mentioned on here.   I sold my exige cup to buy it as I

I sold mine so I could purchase this. Quite a contrast...

Nostalgia!

My NA was a beauty. Loved that car. But the interior of my 410 Sport IS better made, getting in and out is easier, etc.  Nothing against the S1 at all, love them, but to say the interior is "better" than the 4xx cars is very subjective especially given most of the SR's went to an alcantara like dash covering as opposed to the leather of the earlier cars and the later cars lost the brushed metal finish dash/HVAC surrounds which were peachy compared (in my very humble opinion) to the cheaper looking dark plastic coated/painted versions after MY12.

Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate.  Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies!

The first guy to ride a bull for fun, was a true hero. The second man to follow him was truly nuts!

No, saying it's better than the 400

I was referring to the "why am I selling it" remark - nostalgia is what is making you doubt selling it @LotusFella- they are in general just such fine cars. All of them.

It's not keeping the market High artificially, its selling "At a a true Market Value" rather than what some person with no idea of "real life" experience of what is happening in the car industry says it is, just because he gets a job at CAP and thinks he knows it all!

After 30 years in the Industry and a lifetime loving Lotus's its only now many Lotus's are getting the attention and value that they deserve. As for Evora's. Its about supply and demand, like anything! There are so few older Evora's out there and a demand for sub £50k cars that values are going up!

What is a fair Price? I sold just over 100 cars last month and every single one went above what CAP consider a "Fair price". Surely the "Fair Price" should be what I am charging as its what people are paying for the cars. Not what someone in their ivory tower says is a fair price!

forgive me I wasn't having a rant at you at all and as you say Lotus sales are a specialist market.  I think lotus sellers are in 2 camps  those that need to sell and those that will sell at the right price.  There is no glut of cars available so that will always increase prices.

Thinking of adding to your collection then?

Was wondering which of the cars on the market yours was! Nice low mileage - but some mention of the service history might help a bit. You got it listed anywhere else?

I am a bit puzzled of why people would sell 400s below 50k unless something fundamentally wrong with its history. It so close to the finale Evora and the new generation won’t have a +2 so that sounds like great value for money considering the lack of alternative.

i just « refurb » mine (basically taking care of scratches on wheels and other places, getting one light repaired and getting a proper deep clean) and when I picked it up it was feeling like a brand new car.

Well I was looking at one just last week that was under £50K privately, excellent spec, but we never reached a deal. Seller wants to buy a 981 GT4 (these are going up in price, apparently) and wanted just a little too much for the Evora in my opinion.

funny old world.

If I had £50k, I’d be on the phone to @Gashead1105without a doubt... why? Because it’s my old car and at just under £50k is a flipping bargain.

I think it was on the money, it is a Hethel and it was £6K under the price of the 2 Hethels sat with a dealer currently.

For the record last week I was quoted just shy of his asking price for mine, by a dealer, for stock

Still mulling it over... head and heart argument.

It wasn't just about price and the car is lovely, but just saying that even good -400s can be had for < 50K

Exactly how I with thinking @Colin P I had plenty of enquiries which suggested it was the right price for a private sale but even then some people want more money off... I'll keep her anyway, I was really struggling to find a replacement now GT4 prices have moved (by about 5k for a good one since I first listed the 400), the Megane will be the perfect contrast to make the 400 special again and I've got the 7 for the full-on adrenaline rush experience.

Hole in the market at 50k currently. @Gm77's car sold last week also.
