C8RKH 4,244 2 Vehicles Report post Posted August 13, 2016 Lol @Benmac given your car listings they obviously do not recognise a good potential customer when they walk in. I sometimes wonder how these dealers keep going - I mean sales is not that hard if you are diligent etc - I've worked in sales for over 15 years so know a little bit about this. But then obviously not selling cars is a different proposition altogether... Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. Benmac 30 Report post Posted August 13, 2016 Cheers @theelanman, everything OK with you? Have you still got your M100? Might take you up on that as I've not sat in one for a while; what spec is yours? Yep @C8RKH, odd. In Oakmere I didn't labour the point that I had owned a few in my time but I did mention it and I was in my QP. With them the odd thing is that their parts guys have always been exceptional; sales side not so much.
PaulCP 412 Report post Posted August 13, 2016 1 hour ago, Benmac said: I emailed Stratton on Thursday morning, not heard anything back. I called them lunchtime yesterday and left a message as the requisite sales person was out / busy. Not heard anything. Says enough! They were no different 15 years ago, thats how i ended up in a VX220
Benmac 30 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 Harumph. Still no returned call or email. I'll give them another buzz tomorrow and if no joy then I'll give up on that one.

C8RKH 4,244 2 Vehicles Report post Posted August 15, 2016 Wonder if the dealers actually read this stuff on here and take note........ take action ......... or not......... Tropica 51 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 Still amazing that we feel 'lucky' that a salesperson has phoned back when you want to spend 30K + with them - something wrong with that picture!!
Benmac 30 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 Well we've had a decent chat now. I was in a bit of a rush to go out so I've left Jonathan with some questions (recalls, gear cables, owner history, seat bolster, that sort of thing) and he's going to find out and call me back tomorrow. DJW 643 9 Vehicles Report post Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) On the weekend I had a call from Ipswich Ford dealer following up an enquiy I made via their website for a Ford Mustang they had for sale. I made that enquiry before I bought the 400 as fancied owning one for a few months. How the hell can you ignore an enquiry for months lol ? Gravel 102 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 Sorry if this has been answered before, but does anyone have a feel for what the spread between price paid by the dealer and price sold by the dealer is? I may need to sell my car next year, and I'd like to get a feel for what it's worth without formally approaching a dealer or listing it.
Stuno1 317 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 My 2013 white manual sr was bought by a dealer last October for 42 and sold to me in November for 45. He said he was going to list it at 47. Essentially they are looking for a 3k premium.
CocoPops 827 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 B&C want £4K in every car! So I think it varies, some dealers are willing to get cars in and out quickly, so will reduce the margin in both the p/ex and the new car. Also depends on what you're buying. If you're looking just to sell to a dealer then they'll want more of a margin in your car. 1 Quote Currently Owned: 2018 Lotus Elise Sport 220 in Metallic Blue, Alcantara Pack, Forged Wheels, 2piece brakes, AirCon, Hard/Soft Tops, Red Calipers, Stereo, Interior Colour Pack, NVH Pack, Carpets, Mats. Gravel 102 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 Well, ironically I may have to sell the car to help pay for a garage to put the car into, so I'm unlikely to be buying again soon.
