MarkieT
I had a 400, so don't want the same car even if they are great - a 410 is just about different enough with all the carbon bits and the 430 on another scale. The 430 did look and feel like a special car. Mind you the GT 410 sport at B&C is also very nice considering the milage (which is high by lotus/sports car standards but not by normal car standards). MarkieT
Unfortunately those days are gone, government wants your pension funds, will further tax the crap out inheritance and anyone who has worked hard and saved will have to subsidise those who didn’t. That applies to any government in the Uk now. Oops wrong forum.. On a brighter note I did test drive the gt410 auto at b&c today. Nice considering the mileage, there’s a little scuff on the dashboard trim, windscreen needs replacing, a couple of minor scratches but fair enough for the mileage . I’m definitely thinking about it but it’s Hobson choice at the moment.

jep
Windscreens are replaced free in UK under most insurance policies, less a minor excess with some, without affecting any NCB or claims history. Bell and Colvill would sort that out prior to sale. If a chip, many can be repaired. I had one in the eye line, it was repaired by a local firm for £50. I didn't bother involving the insurer. The McLaren windscreen was £3,500 fitted.... insurer paid and I insisted McLaren main agent did the work, not Autoglass. Only McLaren supply screens for their cars, there are no aftermarket ones. Gold FFM TdM Posted March 21, 2022 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 21, 2022 Everyone has different perspectives on priorities but I do have a chuckle with comments of 'for the mileage' and 'high miles' on a car circa 30k miles.

jep
Great value and black shark fins work on that colour. I'd make the wheels silver. Charcoal and black trim initially looks a bit tame but I had an S with that spec and it grew on me. Classy. Justin

scotty435
Past owner of a Liquid Blue NA stunning colour in the sun agree on the wheel front would look better in silver and for me it would look better without the black pack.

Gold FFM Intrepid Posted March 22, 2022 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 22, 2022 Great find. I spent a long time looking at cars and prices for that part of the market and found mine a couple of weeks ago with almost the same spec, less the 2bular exhaust, and on 31k miles for the same price. I would be going to see that one with a view to buying if I were still in the market! A few seem to be offered for unrealistic prices which makes it hard to gauge what a good deal is, but I think from my very recent experience that looks perfect for someone in my position. It will appear, and be declarable, on the claims experience. Some insurers may not take it into account, but I checked recently and most (mine included, which is one of the largest providers) do require it to be disclosed as part of the claims experience. Funny though as in 33 years driving I'd never had a windscreen damaged, then across the families cars we've had 1 new windscreen and 3 repairs in the last 18 months (none going through the insurance). Autoglass are now charging stupid money for a private repair so I wouldn't use them. Quote Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable. Repaired FOC, but usually an excess for replacement, I'm with LV and the windscreen excess for the Evora is £500! It's completely nuts as the policy excess is only £150. As my mate pointed out, "if you crack the windscreen, you may just as well write it off, you'll save yourself £350!"
jep
No excess on my policy for windscreen claims. Normally £50 to £100 - £500 is, er, excessive. Justin

I had a deposit down it was going for £28k in 2020 so high end of the market then. It was a nice car, drove very nicely. One of my only complaints was that it was really quiet but it looks like the current owner has remedied that! Only reason I didn't get it was that someone drove into the car I was trying to sell so needed to get it fixed before I could put the payment down and they wouldn't hold it for me. Edit: Note that it had also had a new clutch when I was looking and if I remember correctly, it doesn't look like it's done many miles since so the clutch should be fairly fresh Edit 2: I found my old review earlier back in this thread and some more info in 2020 it was sat at just under 40k miles so I think it's not done much in the time since. Someone mentioned at the time that it looked like it had a 2bular (might have done!) it was pretty damn quiet I have a video of it and it sounds quiet now as well! It had new brakes on the rear and the clutch had been done about 8k miles earlier at the time so it's not got much use on it. My, inexperienced at the time, review after the test drive is below if it's helpful to anyone: The car is 'clean'. The gearbox was very smooth, so might have upgraded cables (not guaranteeing it, I'm not expert). lights looked in good condition, all LEDs working, glass was clear, lacquer not peeling. Gas struts in boot still work. Passenger side rubber *may* not be 100% perfect with a small 'dent' at the back of the rubber a the top corner of the glass which *could* allow for water ingress especially when it starts getting cold and the rubber is not so supple, again, no expert just observation. Bearing in mind it's an old car! Condition, good. Shut gaps/alignment straight and true. There are some dings on the door that have been touched up with touch up paint, not particularly well, though they are small and not an major issue, normal sort of thing. I noticed as well that there were some 'dents' in the front splitter like it was a little wavy inside, nothing to worry about probably but again, just something I noted. Airbag cover is flat and true. There is a panel behind the instrument binnacle 'hump' that was a little lifted. Back seats have a scratch across them, again nothing out of the ordinary for an oldish car, someone has obviously slid something in there and marked it a bit. Some marks on the sills (as usual). The Launch Edition badge is missing if that is a concern to you. Wear and tear on the radio as well, looked a little old (didn't bother me as I would change it anyway) Aircon working perfectly. Felt solid on the road, no squeaks, rattles or odd noises, tracked straight and true, suspension felt sublime. The ONLY thing that I flagged that concerned me over a 'normal car problems' was a little bit of bubbling in the paint under the bonnet/boot hatch whatever you want to call it just behind the engine. I believe that this can happen from near new and is not a cause for concern in most cases but happy to hear input on it otherwise.
