Evora market watch, for discussion and to help those searching!

Recommended Posts

Thought it might be helpful to the people reading the forum hunting for one of these awesome cars if we had a thread linking to anything new that has come up for sale, such is the apparent demand for the good ones. Maybe it'll give folks a chance to get in there quicker for cars they might not have otherwise spotted.

Saw this one appear yesterday which I like with the yellow roof, but seems highly priced in the market even with the low mileage -

Similarly, not listed yet but arriving at MMC this weekend is my '13 plate S SR IPS. Two owners but one was me for a month as I traded it in for the 400  and it will have under 8k miles by the time I get it handed over, depending on how long a route I take on the way there........

Hadn't looked for a while with being away during the holidays and other stuff, but I see there's another 400 been listed at a ball hair under £70k brand new on Pistonheads. (At Hexagon)

It had made its way to out front of the showroom when I collected the 400 from its service on Friday, they haven't listed it anywhere yet though.

@ Colin G - I'm pretty sure I saw your former Evora at Murrays this evening when I was passing, unfortunately it was covered in snow and so I couldn't see a price or info panel on it but it looked pretty awesome, it's still not on the Murray website which seems a little odd.

Brandon's probably got it sold already - would not surprise me at all.

I don't think many Evora's hang about - the ones that do are either priced wrong or have something dodgy in the description that makes you think hmmmm, what am I buying (think the yellow SC that was advertised as a sports racer, at sports racer money, but wasn't).

Prices seem to be holding firm, even as mileage on the older cars is creeping up too. We may see like with the Elise that prices actually rise in a few years - spoke to an old colleague who has had a lovely white with blue stripes Elise from new since 2008 - he said his car is now actually rising in value. It's a beauty and he uses it to commute to.

I don't think they were in any rush to list it with Brandon being in the US over the festive, but it's up on their site now, £47k.

Looks good but I'm pretty sure this car was recently listed on the BCA Auction site which stated that it had a poor previous repair in it's appraisal, though the ad does state that it's HPI clear.

The Colin Chapman signature sticker is something I've only seen on the car in the BCA photos which makes me think it's the same car, I'd be making sure I got a pretty thorough inspection on this before parting with any cash.

So maybe I was missing something. If it is a straight car that's a steal!

As long as the car wasn't registered Cat C/D, it could still have suffered from a poor accident repair and yet be 'honestly' advertised as 'HPI Clear'. A full inspection from a known specialist would certainly be worthwhile.

Do BCA have their past auction catalogues online somewhere?

It's 7k at least under where it should be on autotrader which I thought may be too good to be true.

This is a very interesting read, I have been thinking about this car over the weekend and even discussed it with the wife. It didn't go down very well as I've just bought her a new car at Xmas and we have 3 other cars, which she is saying is getting out of control. I very nearly took the day off tomorrow to go and have a look at it. If people are saying it's been previously accident damaged then I probably would have missed this myself. I would have taken the view that it's a 14 plate with HPI clear so wouldn't have even got it inspected! Now I am crapping myself thinking what if? I need to find out a bit more about this car before proceeding. Thanks for the heads up, I think this thread is very valuable!

I've just has a weird message from forum saying that 'We miss you' as you haven't logged in for a few months now?

I log on here almost every day. I notice that my reply to this thread wasn't bump up or updated, is there a glitch?

That red IPS S SR was at Snows for a very long time awaiting return to Lotus for a new engine. Something about the left bank..

No, it just takes b&c a while to get pics up. Normal for them to list a car and then add photos.
