jackettc 2
Hi all, I've tried some Nitrons (46's and now Clubsport 40's) for the first time this year on my 2015 Exige V6, and over really harsh 'jolts' like a squared off ridge in a road, I get a 'clank' noise. Most of the time however they are quiet. Does anyone else have Nitrons, and do you have this same issue? I was thinking it is because these are rose jointed as opposed to having rubber bushes. Also the noise seems to improve as they 'warm' up! ... Odd. Also does anyone know a decent place to get corner weighting done near to Reading, Berkshire. Thanks. Sharky 25
Could it be that the stiff rose jointed shocks are transferring the jolt from the road into a relatively weaker part of the suspension that's 'clanking' . Like a control arm. Worth a check of the bushes?
GFWilliams 2,016
Go to Jez at Back on Track for setup - ask him to check they're okay while you're there
PhilC1 1
I have 3 way Nitrons and the helper springs occasionally clank particularly when Rebound/Bump is relaxed for a road setup. Might be that. Would definitely recommend Hoffmans in Henley 15mins from Reading. They fitted mine with their bespoke piston/valving and did a good track/fast road Geo.
