WHen I was a young kid, my mom found a few snakes at her work and brought them home to me as pets...

 

One looked like this

The guys at her work were afraid of it.

I have to say if I came across that I would be going in the opposite direction, someone else could box it up! I always laugh at my labourers when they flap around when a wasp flys past but am getting fed up of getting stung for my bravado, not a game I want to play with snakes

Some years ago, me and a colleague started matching characters from the Muppet Show to our coworkers. I ended up as Stadter, he was Waldorf. Miss Piggy left soon after, but was replaced by Spamela Hamcock.

Yes Ive never seen one although i did once see a tiny lizard on a sand bank over a wood where I live in Norwich

We get sand lizards round our way - actually pretty common if you know where to look.

 

the snake on the other hand - that’s a whole different bag. We found a 4ft skin many years ago in the hedgerow but that’s as much as I’ve ever seen in decades

I'd never seen one until a few years ago, found one in the greenhouse at springtime. I can't recall whether it was the next or previous year, I found a common newt. It was obviously a nice relatively warm place to survive the winter.
