The guy who turns up to the Club Lotus Meets with the INSANE Europa (some kind of GT40 type v8 engine and proper crossover manifolds!) has one of these fitted to that....

we run accusumps on both our sunbeam lotus race cars, there essential on a high grip track /race car, as is a foam filled trap door sump with windage tray under the crank. best other mod is the 3mm restrictor in the block oilway to the head. stops the cam carriers filling with oil and creates better oil pressure at the crank.

to fit an accusump, u may need to weld on a threaded boss to the the pressure switch casting, plumb it into there.

thanks for the input guys. i hope it doesn't come to making custom fittings, but if it comes to that, i am set up for tungsten inert welding+backing gas system.

We run one on an MGA Twincam vintage race car. You will be able to store oil under pressure to lube the turbo bearings on startup/shutdown. Not so sure you will need its protection against oil surge on a road car on street tyres. :D

this one doesn't do turbo cooldown. if it did that, there wouldn't be any pressure left for pre-oiling. the same company sells a separate turbo oiler the same size. i had originally planned to take care of both functions with an inline impellor pump that ran constantly, and could be sped up when low oil pressure was detected, and would also keep running upon engine shutdown to cool the turbo. never had the chance to source all the parts. nothing very technical about it though and if anyone can find the right pump in a small size, i'd be happy to pipe it in. the pump needs to handle hot oil up to 700F, and supply 45psi peak. i've already got the electronics taken care of.
