350 vs 410/430

Recommended Posts

The 350 is almost half price of the last duo.

The chargecooled performances justify the double price?

Or better a 350 with nirron and a bigger wing?

Depends on what u are going to do with ur Exige...

If u want to have all horses in hot climate or go hard in a V6 powered Exige u definitely need a chargecooler, because the ECU will reduce power if the engine gets too hot. Despite that, there can be problems due to the position of the ceramic catalyst next to the engine due to heat.

Jim from 2bular describes it quite good:

http://www.exhaustcompare.com/index.php/comparisons/item/380-exige-s-v6-exhaust-system-comparison

If u want the best quality and stability in ur Lotus Exige with a fair relation price to performance, i would buy a low priced standard 350sport, get a Komo-Tec power upgrade with charge cooling,  2bular exhaust system, nitron 3 way or a KW Competition 3A and a decent brake with floating brake discs.

Just my 2 cents.

Use: track abuse in spring/summer.

So only chargecooled.

No intention to do again the way of high mods.

410/430 bigger tyres, adjustable arbs and better brakes too.

We have just thrashed 2,000 miles through the mountains, the temps in the V6's were completely set between 88-92 the entire trip, with outside temperatures over 33*C, so temps were no issue for this, track may edge higher, but do you need charge cooling  for double the price, only you can decide....

Water temp, or intake temp? Heat soak or lack of in the SC wouldn’t be indicated by water temp

it could be also interesting to compare the Harrop supercharger with the Edelbrock supercharger.

Taken the same route Alps and Pyrenees trip in a V6S , V6 Cup and 410 Evora.

Both Exiges had noticeable changes in performance as it got hotter....410 no issues. IMO , IF you’re into heavy use on track then chargecooled is the way.
